    2010 Secret Santa?

Just wondering if anyone would like to do a Secret Santa this year? I was unable to participate last year because my wife and I had our first child in December, but I would be happy to contribute if there's any interest.

If there's another thread for this somewhere, please direct me to it and close this one... but I searched and couldn't find any mention of one in any forum

I hope there's a secret Santa. If no one organizes it by mid November, i'd be more than happy to organize it, as long as it is okay with the mods.

Though this idea may seem crazy, I think we should have 2-3 different secret santas. One group for the high end collectors, another group for the mid end collectors, and the last group for the low end collectors. Because I know some people, including me, couldn't join last year, because it was all mid-high end. Some people may have good jobs, others maybe students, etc.

This way, it'll encourage everyone to join, not just members that collect high end.

    Just my opinion.

That's not a crazy idea at all. Everyone has their own budget and level of interest, so why not have different groups? That should definitely get more interest/participation.

I guess we can find out how many people would be willing to participate and then run it by the mods if that's how it works.

Well, if we had the 3 groups, with 1 mod per group running the secret Santa, I don't think it should be a problem. If, we made a restriction of the number of people that wanted to join...maybe if we had 14 members per group max...

I would think 10-12 people max and you must have over 50 feedback. It's not hard to get 20 and be a scammer. It's a lot harder to get to 50 and then still be a scammer.

just my opinion from being ripped a few times lol if you want the secret santa to work make a price range and everyone send paypal or some kind of payment to whoever is looking after secret santa ,so make a min price range so if someone doesnt send there cards (dont recieve means they get the persons payment that never sent the cards and if all others ok that they recieved there secret santa cards then the mod looking after it refunds all the payments back that way no one is getting ripped , just an idea to think about

Personally, I wouldn't join another just based on my past experience. Not only has their been no contact from the person who had me, the person organzing the summer secret santa said he would be in contact with the ones of us who did not recieve and that also didn't happen. I think the whole idea behind the theme is great it just sucks when people don't get what they are suppose to in return. Just my thoughts
