I absolutely agree with this post. The Secret East Bunny was to put it mildly a disaster as the organizer wasn't organized at all. I posted I wanted to join and was told it was fill unless I found 3 other people to join which I decided not to do but apparently 3 other people joined so I was in without knowing it. I didn't check the thread again and never received any PM from the organizer saying who I had received so I completely forgot about it. About 3-4 weeks before the send date I receive a PM asking how I was doing finding cards for my Secret Easter bunny. I was very confused and not thrilled about this. After awhile things got figured out for me lets just say ravens_creed had me and I had him. We ended up PMing each other about 10-20 times with our want lists and just chatting. I got him some sweet PC cards and he got me some sweet PC cards so it all worked out for us but several people never received anything while sending some nice cards.
Again with the Secret Summer Santa I got 2 sick PC cards and 2 other nice cards. I sent some pretty awesome cards to the person I got. That worked out well but as you said several other people got ripped off completely and again the organizer was absent and didn't do enough to make sure it ran smoothly.
I would do it again only if either a Mod organized it or the feedback requirement is 50 and the post requirement is 300-500 minimum as it shows high activity levels on this site. Total of 20 people maximum. Also would be hard to break it down into low end collectors, mid end collectors, and high end collectors. Would be best if it is mid end with 4 cards total and a minimum sale value requirement. Beckett value is useless as an $80 BV card can sell for $20.

This sounds good, if we can find a Mod willing to organize it. I'm surprused that there's been so many problems with it in the past, though I did have one year where a Secret Santa organizer didn't check refs/feedback on my Secret Santa so I got shut out. But overall I've had a lot of fun with it. If we can safeguard against scammers it's still a great idea.

If you guys are willing to split it into 3 categories being: low, mid, high-end I wouldnt mind running the high-end one if theres nobody to run it. However i agree that it should begin by mid-november max in order to have a chance to send the cards for xmas. Im totally for the idea of only participants with 50+ feedback participating. ( I also think it should be 50+ feedback from SCF alone and not transferred feedback from elsewhere.)
Anyhow lets get this going, shall we?

I have done a Secret Santa on another forum and last year there was over 200 people signed up with 100% success, meaning everyone got a gift. You have to limit it to people who have a certain number of trades, keep a running publicly posted lost of people participating and received gifts, and ofcourse a mod with access to our personal info.

Sounds good to me. What do you consider high-end? I can probably spend about $50 -- is that high or mid?

I was in the last Secret Santa, had a blast! Matthew if I remember well went above and beyond and made my week when I got his package.
I was in the Summer Santa, haven't received yet but I am in touch with the person who got me, his package was lost in the mail so I should get another one.
I'd be in for the high-end one

I'm going to revive this thread, because I am interested in participating, but given the history of the event over Summer and Easter, it may not be approved. Could one of the mods please post here with their opinions?

I'd be in if there's a certain amount of feedback is required (50+)
I was in the easter(i think) one, and everything went fine for me.
I did receive a few cards (patches,/10) and I was very happy.
