The card shop closest to where I live and work sucks as well. Prices seem too high and he doesn't even have alot of different packs for sell. Also I was looking through his singles case and he doesn't have much at all. My personal collection dwarfs everything he has for sale.

Ever since Grandstand Sports Collectibles (a place I used to almost live at in the 90s) closed down, I would go to this spot called BJ's Sportscards and NASCAR Collectibles. Prices were so-so but the selection was great and the owner would go out of the way for you doing special orders and such. I even got a job there in August of last year when I decided to start collecting again. I got paid every week and about 75% of my check would go right back to the shop, the little 10% discount I got barely did anything.
After working there about 3 months, the other guy who worked there lost his day job. He was working at the shop at night. But instead of coming to me and saying, "Paul, Jeff lost his job and since he's been here 4 years and he needs the hours, i'm going to have to let you go." He makes up a story about me stealing from the store (i've never been that desperate that i've taken something that didn't belong to me) and how he wasn't going to pay me for the hours I worked that week or the week before (it was in the middle of the week). I had gotten to know some of the collectors that were coming in and had done some trading with them. A handful of them called me asking why I wasn't there and after telling them the story, they stopped going there and went to a small store where I go now in Coplay.
It's a nice place with a great selection and more singles than you can shake a stick at. The only problem with it is, he's only open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
