I don't see the appeal... sure, its a 1/1... but its still only a base parallel. I could see the hype over a rookie shield, or even some nice patches... but a base?

Not just a base parallel - the Rookie 1/1 parallel. It doesn't get more high-end than The Cup, and it doesn't get much more significant than Ovechkin.

Going to be mighty interesting to see if (or, rather, when) some rather well-known high-end Ovechkin super collectors ramp it up on this baby.

I've been sitting here for the last twenty minutes trying to figure out how high I could go on this without doing one of two things:


a) jeopardizing the new driveway and windows I'm having done in the spring

or

b) having my wife curse me out for spending $15K-$20K on a hockey card.
