That is definitely weird...if I did that I bet they'd make me see it through!
(I wonder whether it was just some people 'having a 'laugh'...)

Beckett is contacting all bidders to confirm they are able to pay (I really don't want to give them my phone #, especially since I didn't win). They also cancelled anyone with 0 feedback or those that didn't return their messages. Two retractions were from a guy with 4 feedback probably just screwing around.
