Chances are the people involved in this have one or two already.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

it's a really nice card...
you can get so many other really cool autos /patches/jersey cards
hell you could get a ridiculous lot of cards for under 1k
someone clearly has too much money, and/or is a hard to the core Ovie fan

Yes you could, but none of those cards are anywhere near equal in stature to The Cup Black Rainbow 1/1.
For the price I spent on my Gorges The Cup Black Rainbow 1/1 I could probably have bought 5 autos, 4 patches, 3 jerseys, two SP Authentic RCs, and a partridge in a pear tree - none of them, either individually or as a whole, are equivalent to the 1/1.

Just to add to calling the ov 1/1 a piece of cardboard...as it was already been mentioned, its a hobby, you could equally say that a post stamp is just a piece of paper with some glue on it, however, there is stamps that are worth more than a mil $ out there, and they are usually not even 1/1....my father is a passionate stamp collector and when I talk to him about pricing of such rare things, he says: the book value is BS, the real value such a rare collectable (be it a stamp or a card) is exactly what one is willing to pay in an auction...hence, the real value of this card will be what it sells for...regardless if people think its overpriced or not...thats my opinion...nice card btw:)
