Time for a replacement?

I have the following redemption with Upper Deck:

JONATHAN TOEWS / KARL ALZNER / STEVE DOWNIE 2009 NHL TRILOGY 1-2-3- CLEARCUT COMBOS # ED TO 10 CD # CC3-J07

I redeemed it in March of this year and I requested an update from Upper Deck and they are apparently still waiting for Downie to sign. I noticed Downie has signed with Panini already so my guess is that I'll never see this card. I'm thinking of getting a replacement but I don't want to lose out on the replacement gamble. Upper Deck has offered a replacement and has asked for 5-7 comparable players. I'd obviously be wanting something I can trade or sell quickly for my Alzner PC since I gave up an Ovechkin YG for this card. Should I ask for the usually big names (Crosby, Stamkos, Ovechkin, Orr etc) and hope they look after me or should I keep holding out on the off-chance Downie decides to sign?

I can tell you one thing, I will never ever ever trade for a redemption card again. lol

Upper Deck has always done a phenomenal job on replacements for me, so I think they will hook you up. Unfortunately since you only collect Azner you can't simply ask for a card of his because you would be limited to what you could get. I'd keep an open mind and ask for some of the big names, but also add when you talk to them that this was an important piece to your Azner PC and that it would be almost impossible to replace. Hopefully they will hook you up with something extra nice to make up for it. Good luck with whatever you do.

Replacement might not always be best either. I had a similar card (Clearcut Brodeur/Price/Mason) that I requested a replacement for in AUGUST!. Status still says "replacement requested". LOL

same thing i got a kane ( when i used to collect him ) 08-09 ultimate auto jersey /50...i requested a replacement..in june..still in progress...there slow sometimes..

wow i'd be mad if i pulled that from a pack and didn't get it, let alone trading an Ovy YG and not getting it. now THATS rough :( i would asked for big name players though. I'm assuming you would rather get one awesome card rather than 5 or 6 mediocre cards.

i called the othe day for an update and the guy said their system was down and he couldnt check anything...then asked what sport, when i told him hockey he said they were doing those replacements now and that i should get it soon...im going to call back tomorrow and see if their "system" is working

I've asked about replacements for my redemption's... they gave me attitude and I'll never get them. Even if one was a Toews rookie.
