None taken, I promise :)
I've made a few points in that other thread I linked to.... have to run, but I'll probably be back on later to write a small novel on why I don't think they should be accepted as "true RCs" but also why, I think, inevitably they will be - including by Beckett (who has NOT tagged them with an RC).

well as the proud new owner of a Hall Ice premieres, i am getting very upset by hearing this news, i didn't know there was a debate and still can't believe it to be honest. i don't see sales hurting by this debate, the hall still sells for over $500 on ebay and is booked at $650. i absolutely think it's a true rc just as the other ice premieres are.
HCC - there isn't an eberle yet, it seems his will come as ice will be packed out in the spx boxes.

Doesn't matter really RC v. non RC when it's the same year.
The Ice sells so high because of its scarcity relative to other Hall cards issued this year, not to mention the odds are so long and you have to go through a box of Black diamond for a small bonus ICE pack with limited shot at Hall. It's going to take a while for those 99 halls to trickle in...
(That being said I'll probably pick up a case of BD
)
The whole RC things is massively overblown because it really was only an issue when you had a card company issue a USA card and then the player was first in uniform the next year and people weren't sure if it was a RC or traded series v. next years release etc.
I'm of the opinion that an RC is the first card released of a company's releases and in the case of 2010-11 were some releases were dropped as Panini took some of UD licenses those cards release under products that would have been released had UD had its full compliemnt of releases should still count.

why is $500 crazy money? i think it should be more, and it will be. stamkos' ice just sold for $1600 or something graded. crosby's went for $2800. the more the merrier, makes collecting worth it. if all cards were $10, who would care

I would still care if all cards were $10! That would be awesome because then I could afford some of the really nice ones haha.

Seems like alot of money for a player that has played 30ish games....Alexander Daigle comes to mind....I guess if there was any common sense none of us would spend our money this way lol.

Both rated similiar on draft day, no one paid $500 for his rookie card and thankfully so. Do I think Hall will turn out better, sure hope so I have some of his cards but I would never pay $500 for one at this point.
