Private Message Etiquette?
Ok so I am trying to sell some cards and on one of my posts I noticed in another members sig that he collects a certain player. I send him a private message asking what he collects figuring maybe he would be interested in some of my cards. It shows it has been read, but I get no reply. Is this proper to ignore or should I at least get a no thanks.

thats one othe biggest pet peeves of alot of members on this site myself included is when people dont reply to PMs. its not that hard to send back a simple no thanks to let us know you read it and are not intersted. but unfortunatly you will notice some members on here feel their time is worth more then others peoples so they dont feel the need to reply. most members ive dealt with are great at getting back to me with at least a no thanks.

I look at it the other way. The person you PM'd could be tired of receiving unsolicited sales pitches. Much like the reaction to a door-to-door salesman, and simply refuses to answer the door. Personally, I enjoy getting unsolicited TRADE offers, but have no use for SALE offers. If I am interested in buying from someone, I will PM them.

IMO, if people don't want people PMing them about selling something to them, they should put something in their signature.

I agree that not getting a response is annoying BUT (I have been guilty of this) I forget to send a PM back. I am not rude, I just forget...

If it is a trade offer, I don't mind. A sale offer, I would ignore.

I'm with the ones who hate being blown off, I would rather you tell me to go scratch Off than be ignored when I take the time to pm you or answer you back.

I get propositioned over on Beckett all the time with "Are you interested in buying this or that?" I always respond (sometimes more crude than other times) but it does get annoying. Perhaps those that do not respond have nothing good to say and are following their parents advice, If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing.

I don't really mind one way or another.
