    Cards are printed in sheets aren't they? Could easily take a high res photo of an entire sheet, then make copies and crop for each card, that should not be that time consuming.

    The solution would be some sort of chemical added to the patch that shows a serial number on the patch when the card is in the dark. The serial number could be stored in UD's database for verification

    Cool idea. As long as the chemical didn't damage the card, it might be possible.

    The cards are printed that way but when it comes to memorabilia and auto cards (as in The Cup) there's a lot of steps involved in getting to the final product after the top layer of the card comes off the press.
