Well, judging by his feedback rating of 99.5% maybe this isn't the first time he/she has sold packs like this before!

Hot packs are scams... Have someone here on SCF ever gotten a Crosby, Ovechkin, Gretzky etc. when buying "hot packs"? I doubt it.

not from hockey but from football and baseball. Football I just needed something to help with my set needs. Baseball I pulled a Lou Gehrig bat card out of a pack. Personally I'm fine with them, I'd rather pay $15 for the hit in a box than $120 for the whole box

I'm sure he probably opened/resealed the pack but there are other ways to tell if the pack has a patch or not. I guess the decoys UD uses in SPA aren't exactly the same size as the base cards width wise so when you put your fingers on the sides and it's not flush with the base cards it's most likely a decoy, if it's flush it's a patch. A guy at my LCS told me about that, never tried it but I guess it makes sense.

I buy by the box and don't worry about it. They really are just grab bags, which I think ebay banned? They're just doing what UD does with %90 of whats made lol.
