Been there once or twice along the way....chalk it up as a lesson learned and hopefully the guy will catch fire and you'll end up with a super steal after all. :)

The fact is, with any product, whether its cards or toilet paper, the real value is what people are willing to pay. Your best option is to look at ebay, find completed auctions and know your limit if you want to minimize your risk of the card depreciating.
Supply and demand.

So very true. I quite remember calling Pacific in 1999, they have a number of CR and Pacific Issue cards where a player's Rookie card produced by them did not match the previous year of other companies cards.
When I suggested to Pacific that Beckett did not see some of their cards as Rookies, they responded that Beckett is not a manufacturer, and could blow it out their A.......es. Lol
I agree. Beckett means nothing to me.
