The burning question: Game Used or Autographed?

im leaning towards autos now, but i still really like game used

I actually prefer autos signed directly on the cards to be honest. A lot of the vintage autos have done this and it looks great in my opinion. As Rich said the sticker autos almost make me like the patch cards better((provided they are real)) cuts I would say are slightly better then patches for ones that have the full names on there((Except Lombardi :D)) the cuts autos do have a tendency ((especially HOF)) to have part of the name taken off.

i would take an auto over GU any day... there are n unlimited number of GU peices but when a player dies there will be no more autos from them

I love auto's now, especially since the GU are getting very plain looking lately. However a nice patch, multi colored or a nice piece of the uniform etc. is my favorite. For example I recenty saw a Brady patch that had the face of the "flying elvis" as they call it. Sweet looking card.
However you can' t beat a multi-GU card, like a piece of helmet, jersey, hat, shoe, pants etc.!!

For me it depends on the set, i really like the design of the SPA RC autos for this years BKB SPA Set but I also like the 01-02 Topps Chrome Lacing UP Game Used lace cards, if the design of the set is just fugly ill take a better looking set over the fugly set

What a fun question!

My answer, given today's proliferation of each is...both! Today's card market offers a pretty decent number of combo cards in which you can get both on a single card.

If I really have to choose, I'll take a nice patch over a nice autograph in general. That may just be because there are lots of autographs of my favorite player (Alan Trammell) and not as many patches. But I think I also just find the 3-D, textured, multi-colored nature of most patches really visually appealing.

You're right. A guy on ebay with over 1000 or 10.000 feddback (Can't remember) sell vintage common and older with signature on it. He have he's COA with the cards and the cards and the signature looks authentic. (I have some here from this seller).

What do you think of this kind of "Cards signed in person" ?
