No, we'd still have a 1-0 lead if this pitch wasnt getting called a ball EVERY time..

Seriously, how are you suppose to pitch effectively if that pitch is called a ball?Hidden Content

Verlander's day is probably done now..the statline doesn't do him justice, due to an umpire with an awful strikezone, it ruined Verlander's outing..now I know i'll get the 'you only complain about the umpires when your team loses'
No, look at the picture, he wasn't getting that pitch at all tonight, Braden was, but Verlander wasnt..and some pitches even closer the middle were being called balls..
Just sad, hopefully the offense can pick him up and make sure he doesnt get the loss

You can act like it's not a big deal all you want, but it's facts. Why take 30-40 AB's away from your best player?
One would think you'll win more games if Cabrera gets 30-40 AB's from Raburn (or whoever hits 3rd).

Agreed. I wish Leyland would get over his man crush with Raburn and Don Kelly and wake up with his batting order. I like the lineup Dan proposed earlier. Raburn should not be hitting higher than 6 or 7. It seems like Ol' Jimmy bases his lineup on the projections of fantasy baseball magazines.
Looks like the game may have passes Leyland by.

I'm thinking different than Leyland I guess..
We need base runners for Miggy to drive in, its that simple, let them go 1-2-3 everytime you get to the bottom of the order, as long as the top of the order gets it done. I mean anyone who watched the game last night, saw how bad Raburn was swinging the bat yesterday, and his terrible fielding play again, I don't get what Leland sees in Raburn and doesn't see in Casper Wells?
And Magglio is clearly not 100% so no clue why he was playing yesterday. Cost a team a run on Miggys double even though he should've still got driven in with no outs..bad offense, bad strikezone..I think Verlander was pitching brilliant but when a ball goes down the middle and gets called a ball, not much he can doLast edited by gladdyontherise; 04-17-2011 at 10:14 AM.

They'd be better off with Wells instead of Magglio. Wells can at least get from 1st to 3rd or score from second. Magglio should be nothing more than a pinch hitter. I think Leyland has been clinging to 2006 for far too long.

Don Kelly is hitting 6th and Casper Wells 9th? SOMEONE TELL ME HOW THAT MAKES SENSE????
Casper hits for power and average, Don Kelly hits for no power and no average, Jim Leyland is managing to throw logic out the window on a daily basis right now.
I mean come on, thats just silly
