.....because he'd get roughly 30-40 more at bats a season. One would think you'd want your best player to get up to bat as many times as possible, no?

I may be wrong but I think you said it could've been as high as 60 more ABs, right?
Leyland is the same manager though who in 2009 would bat Clete Thomas 3rd on a consistent basis

As long as they win i could really care less about how many bats one gets.
but ya i guess that makes sence.
There is really not enough hours in a day for me too count at bats from my perspective.

Well, they've never made the playoffs with Miggy on the team, so I wouldn't exactly say they win a lot.

Whoever the homeplate ump is, he's awful, I don't think i've ever seen a worse strikezone than whats being called tonight..this is just getting on a ridiculous level, when the ball is right down the middle and its called a ball, its sad (and no i'm not exaggerating)
