The sabres need to get rid of their excess of dead weight on the team. Example: their Captain Rivet continues to be a healthy scratch game in and game out. They also need backup goaltending. Lalime hasnt playing in 30 games

Well the Bruins have definitely made some aggressive splashes on the market today.
What, if anything, should their key conference rivals do in response?

Flyers top on the wishlist - stay healthy and have a goalie get hot right before the playoffs start.
They don't need much at all. I'd love to see Shelley or Carcillo out and maybe bring in a guy like Chris Neil. More grit, toughness and a frustrating player to be against and an overall upgrade in my opinion.

All the canucks need is to trade Mason Raymond and find a better winger to play 2nd line with Kesler and Samuelsson and maybe get rid of Torres for a more consistent 3rd liner. Otherwise it's just a waiting game for the defence to return to normal.

Canucks need to get healthy. And why trade Raymond. for what hes making he is putting up comparable numbers to others who get paid the same. And we would need to pick up someone paid less than him to stay near the cap. Also dont forget hes missed time with a hand injury and is just now healed up from. Everything will come together with the team once we get a few D-men back.

I have an odd feeling that Raymond is on the verge of going on a tear. The last couple of weeks he's really been buzzing and was, in my opinion, the one bright spot in that awful game against Nashville, even if he didn't score.
Torres is the kind of player who's still worthwhile even when he isn't noticeably producing. I think to pull him off the one line that has been consistent all season (Torres/Malholtra/Hansen) would be a bad idea. I know they've had trouble scoring, but those three simply tire out the opposition, making way for the other 2 lines. Torres looked like a steal at the beginning of the year, but since he hasn't been scoring, everyone says he's not worth it. The same thing happened in Edmonton. I don't see him as a goal scorer, though. I think he has a different job which he does quite well and any goals that come off his stick are a bonus.
