People on another forum confirmed with Barnes and Noble that it was signed by Ripken. However, they were also told that it was probably only a set amount that would be signed by him and that they were sold out of the autographed copies, but they still said they were available of their website. Worst comes to worst we're out like $15 and chances are they wouldnt give an unsigned copy if you paid for the signed copy. I would think they'd end up canceling the orders if they went over.

Judging by this they aren't out of the autographed edition:

Since I can still preorder it.

Yeah that's what I was saying, but one guy on another forum had called and the representative said that their system said they had reached the number of autographed versions already.

If they give me an autographed edition and don't send it autographed- their customer service better be ready to get a phone call from me with no mincing words involved.

At least it is Borders and not some fly-by-night- their return policy is usually pretty good.

Yeah, I would think they wouldn't send an unsigned edition if you ordered the signed edition. Seems like that would be too good of a way to get a lot of angry customers calling them.

If it's autopen I will be taking advantage of borders open ended return policy- I once returned a book 2 years later for like 15 bucks store credit. That's why I view this as a no risk investment I can just buy and then wait until the inevitable discussion on here about if they are real or not.

Isn't Cal a good signer? Hopefully he wouldn't autopen dupe us. Also the fact that they are "selling out" of signed books is a good sign, you wouldn't sell out an autopen, at least not as easily.
