Most likely scenario : We all wasted time and will eventually get refunds.

Otherwise they got overwhelmed with orders and pushed the date back to get Cal to sign more books.

I doubt it the unsigned release date got pushed back as well.

On Borders and Amazon it still says March 1 is the release date for the unsigned version which was the release date on Barnes and Noble the whole time. I'm thinking Borders just screwed up on the release date they put up for the signed one. However, Barnes and Noble now has March 15 for the release for the signed version.
