Just a heads up, the ushers won't let you into a section an hour before the game starts unless you have tickets for that section, and the players really don't hit the field until then. They guard their sections like hawks. I actually saw them get police involved to remove a guy that didn't have tickets for that specific section last year. Your chances of getting sigs before the game in the park are slim unless you have tickets along the left field line. I sat in section 120 and had some nice successes. I also got Victorino after the game when he was finished with a post game BP. They pretty much give you free reign of the park once the game is over, so you may want to make your way down there then. Ruiz signed for people too after the game, but not anywhere near where I had set up shop.

Argh! I already bought berm seating for the entire time I would be there last night! Your post was literally an hour too late. So pretty much I'm totally screwed then...

nevermind it wouldn't have helped- they have been sold out of section 118-120 for a long time.

Ive never been able to get much from the yankees in spring training. Ive only been able to get Goose Gossage. My best place to graph was the Cardinals in their berm. But thats far from clearwater.

I amended my plans- I got tickets to sections 118 and 120 for 2 of the games I am going to, and berm seating for the 3rd (best I can do). I might add I got royally ripped in the process- but I am not going to let 20 dollars here or there ruin my vacation (and watching Cliff Lee sign an autograph in section 120 while I sit helplessly on the berm would qualify).
How does that sound, druce?
Also, is there any chance at getting them in the parking lot after or before? Also, did you ever do the minor league fields at the Carpenter Complex? What are they like?Last edited by cyberer; 02-15-2011 at 06:33 PM.

You should get good shot at some guys in each of those sections. I recommend being in the section by 11:45, guys seem to start strolling by around 12:00 for a 1:00 start.
There is a smaller field across the street where the parking lot is in which a saw a minor league game going on last year. There was no one watching it, and I was running a little late, so I din't stick around to see who was there. It seemed like it would be ripe for graphing, though.

BTW, for your Phillies game, you have a great shot of getting visitor autographs and going to the Blue Jays is a guaranteed autograph. I think I got a third of the roster in two hours. Jose Molina came to sign twice!

Do you mean the Blue Jays at home or on the road? I'm not sure I am going to games in Dunedin, but I am going to a Blue Jays road game in clearwater.

I meant Dunedin. If you can, you should really check it out. It's a small little park with a true baseball feeling. There are no exploding scoreboards, exquisite food options, and all the fans are friendly.
(P.S, if you do end up going to Dunedin, along the 3rd/left field foul line there are two secret autograph spots to note. They are both for getting the away team's signatures. The first one is obvious, it's an extended area with no seats and surrounded by metal fence on 3 sides. Every player that comes to the field from the training field has to pass that spot and will likely stop and sign. I got Phil Coke, Gerald Laird, Clete Thomas, and Don Kelly of the Tigers. The second one is tough to spot. If you are going to the previous spot, before you enter the rectangle box, to the left you might see a small tunnel. The tunnel is miniscule and dark but if you can call the player over, it's a great spot to get an autograph without a crowd. Sorry that I can't really explain it, and I hope this helps.

yankees stadium sucked! cant sit in the outfield, and the tix were like $30 bucks!
If u are staying north of clearwater, then dunedin is the place to be. That is the jays home and should be a great place to graph. Havent been to the orioles as last time I was down they were still in west palm i think. They took over the vacated reds park. Good luck, and enjoy the weather! It snowed here in Philly again last night, and again tonight they say
