Good luck man. If it's real, $40 is one heck of a steal. If it's not, I hope you do get your money back. I'd definitely lean on the fake side.

This is what he said back and I said yes please refund
Hi, this is not a fake. There are multiple versions of this buybacks this one is from 97-98 this is not the 99-00 that is #/21. And I have called upper deck multiple times to confirm this buyback and they say it is correct. Buybacks do not come up in upperdeck's database so I don't know where your friend is getting his information but its incorrect. I understand you concerns and I will be happy to refund your money. Please just let me know. Thanks

KG's auto over the years has varied. With that said, the numbering on the card is consistent with the hand numbering from UD that I have seen and owned. I think you got a good deal, and would take the card. You should get some response from UD within the paypal refund period, and that should give you some more light. Great price, by the way.

Then he's probably lying.
Look up Beckett - http://www.beckett.com/search/#term=...ntic%20buyback
or Upper Deck - http://sports.upperdeck.com/collecto.../98nbaspa.html
There is NO Garnett card in the 97-98 set. Does it have a separate COA card like the Jordan I showed? I very much doubt it...

Apparently not listed on Beckett. The auto looks better, but KG's auto isn't so great and I have a few. I saw that and couldn't decide if it was real or not so I pasted on bidding. It is a steal if real. I only do buybacks if they have the matching card with it. At least then I have some more info on it. Good luck.

It looks like yours is the one they've tried to fake/copy, even the serial number is the same... however yours is actually listed as part of a checklist on Upper Deck (despite the lack of information about serial numbering) whereas there is no sign of him in 97-98.
Glad the OP got a refund, the card has far too many question marks for my liking

Seems like all they did was dodge the question.
