Left me negative feedback because I didn't leave feedback fast enough. Apparently I was rude when I wrote him back and explained I don't leave feedback until the BUYER does, which he was. How would I know he recieved the card? Moron.

Not for nothing but personally I think as soon as the buyer pays, the seller should be leaving feedback.
I dont like sellers that wait for me to leave them feedback and base their feedback of me on what I give them. The buyers end of the bargain is upheld 100% once the item is paid for.
If theres problems that are caused by the buyer later on, thats what ebay case files are for.

I have to agree with this as well, at least for the most part. All we can do as buyers to hold up our end of the transaction is to pay for the item. As the seller you can't leave negative feedback anyway so regardless of when you leave your feedback it won't stop the buyer from hitting you with a negative if something goes wrong.
However, it is kind of extreme for the buyer to leave a negative just because feedback wasn't left fast enough. As long as he receives the card and is satisfied with the transaction itself he shouldn't portray it as a negative experience just because he had to get after the seller for feedback. Some sellers don't leave me feedback at all and I never hit them with a negative because of it.
If jonpop was rude in his response to the buyer then maybe it was warranted, but generally the seller should leave feedback once the card is paid for and likewise the buyer should leave a positive once the card arrives as described (unless there is a serious issue that can be attributed to the seller).Last edited by Inferno; 03-18-2011 at 11:43 PM.

I look at it differently. When you bid you really HAVE to pay. You're not getting any end of a bargain that's the rules. Just leave me feedback when you get the card. That's how I know the card was received. The I'll leave feedback. And besides, do you seriously think me not leaving feedback first is worthy of a neg?

Im not sure I understand what youre saying in the bolded part.
But as for the neg for not leaving feedback in a time frame..no I wasnt talking about that. I think thats pretty dumb too from the other guys standpoint.
My point was once you received the cash you should just be leaving feedbacks for the buyer then.

I think I may be just losing my reality grip with ebay. I mean I've been doing this this way for eons. Guess I just don't understand why I'd leave a positive feedback as soon as they pay, then find out later they pull the "I didn't receive the card" etc routine. Can i retract a positive feedback when I think I was scammed? Not sure. I think the buyer wins everytime.
I have near 400 positive feedback.

I'd prefer that a seller leaves me feedback once I've paid, but I don't see it as grounds for a negative feedback. And while I can't comment on how you treated this buyer - whether you really were rude - but I don't see how that matters as all. As long as my card is received in good time and in good condition, you can be a total ™™™ and it wouldn't affect my feedback. I'm not expecting sellers to be my friend, just to get me my card.
That's definitely disappointing to get your first negative over somethingo so silly. You upheld your end of the deal, that's all that should matter.
