    Bill Ripken FF Card Question

I was wondering if Bill Ripken will autograph the 1989 Fleer FF card and if anyone has seen one ? If not what about the scribble or box card ? I think it would be really cool to have the FF card signed.

Probably a chance to take, maybe try sending another card to him first and ask if he will sign the FF card. Wouldn't want ya to lose that one if he doesn't sign it and tosses it or something.

I've heard that he is very suspicous of being tricked into signing the FF card. Rumors are that every time he's given an 1989 Fleer card to sign, he rubs the card to ensure no one is trying to sneak one by him.

I'm a total noob, so forgive my ignorance. But, what are people trying to sneak by him?

Signing a card that has an expletive written on the end of his bat. Somehow it passed thru whoever checks photos and was printed on cards.

I see, so he rubs it to make sure someone didn't temporarily obscure the bat knob. Thanks!

I don't see the big deal really. It's a card so why won't he sign it? Obviously someone else wrote that on his bat and he didn't know. Or he was in on it and didn't expect it to really be printed that way. Perhaps some guilt over it?

Yeah, most people don't really think badly of him. He might as well ride his little bit of fame. Had it not been for that bat, he would just be "Cal's little brother", but now he is stand alone as the "FF guy".

Has anyone tried sending him a letter asking if he will sign the FF card ? Just wondering, I might send one off and see what his response is.. That would be a really cool card to have signed and psa / dna'd.
