Postage scales?
Anyone use a postage scale to just weigh their stuff at home and enter it on USPS to get the cheaper shipping? I'd much rather have to pay less on shipping if I can. Seems like a waste to go to the post office when they cost more, may be just a little more but any bit helps.
So I'm wondering what anyone suggests for a scale?
Also another dilemma is when your not making much off what you sell and want to get the cheaper shipping and send in a PWE. You can't really put one of those labels on a PWE can you.
Buyer I have right now is offering me $3 delivered on some cards and wants DC. That will leave me with not much.

I bought a 5 dollar food scale from Wal-mart. You don't need a high dollar scale to measure ounces.

My scale came off of Amazon, cost like $15, works fine..
You can't put a label on a PWE, you can't put DC in general on a PWE i believe.Hidden Content

I have seen some on Ebay. 35 and 55 lb. scales. Starting at pennies a piece. Shipping is $8.90. Wonder if its worth going after. It doesn't tell a brand name or anything and I don't think the seller is going to answer my email.

I print all mine at 1oz, regardless of how much they weigh. Over the years, over 2,000 transactions I have only had 1 arrive to someone with postage due.

I wouldn't suggest this. You could get infraction points on here for bad shipping.
I have a scale from the USPS. Works great.

Yeah definitely doesn't seem like a good idea.
Anyone suggest a cheap scale? I see some cheap ones on ebay. Seller said they are "WeighMax" Chinese ones or something. But looking on Amazon they have good reviews but there are also several bad reviews that they stop working after a while.

I got a 5lb usb scale from stamps.com for 10 bucks as part of their free trial.. as soon as i got it and used the $5 in free postage i canceled my trial..
the scale doesnt have a display so software is required to read the weights but you can download a free driver/app for it that works fine..
