Being a Canucks fan does has its challenges, I won't lie since Wickabee already spelt it out for us. However being a Canucks fan in Oil country (Oilers), now that does have some challenges. Its amazing how many fans around Edmonton like to talk about the past and rub it into my face.

"Oh how many cups has Vancouver won?" "Yeah thats what I though, look at how many we (oilers) have, so we are a better team."

On that note I always reply in a polite voice, "So that means Toronto/Montreal are better than the Oilers." Usually shuts them up because they don't like to think of it in terms that shows they are not as supperior as they thought.

Now I've gone to a few canucks game in Edmonton this year and to be honest I could swear we were at Rogers Arena. So many canucks fans all about the arena! Loo chants loud enough to be picked up by television.

I'm proud to be a canucks fan no matter what they do. They are my team and I'll stand by them through good times and bad.

Yet as an observation, it amazes me as to how many tickets are avialable all of a sudden on sites for the remain few Oilers Home games. Yes they are having another bad season, but the prospects they have are going to be a trouble to deal with in years to come. Why give up on your team even though they've lost the season? I mean look at the Canucks/Oiler game the other day. The obviously have something going for them no matter how much people talk in terms of stats.

Anyways thats my two cents, hopefully not too much of an anti oiler rant ;)

Just gotta have hope. Believe me, as a Leaf fan I know all about 'dark days', even though I am young compared to some who have been Leaf fans far longer than I have been alive. Hope is what keeps me going, hope that eventually the Leafs will win the Cup. Slowly but surely.
