I'm going to keep an open mind. Panini and UD may be on to something. Although I don't see the end of traditional cards as we know them because there's just too much history in them, I believe that these new trading cards may take our hobby to levels that we could have never imagined. Now I'm not going to run out and buy them as soon as they come out I may pick up a 1 or 2 when the price drops just to see for myself. If it's just a fad it really wont matter but if it becomes a hit it just may be the shot in the arm that our hobby needs.

^^ win. People are so skeptical about these things, but I'm definitely interested in how this pans out.

You know what amazed me the most about this video is that all you see Blake sign is Balls, Jersey's, Posters etc. Panini is a freaking card company, i want to see Blake sign on-card auto's instead of the sticker stuff that Panini has mass produced in their high-end stuff.

About those video cards, i think they look really cool. I dont think i would collect it as part of my card collection, but maybe would like to have one just as a cool gadget.
If the price is right i might be temped to get one of eBay. I think it is key for Panini to make this approachable for everybody, if they only make it for high-end product such as NT it is bound to fail as only the uber-wealthy will be able to buy it.

Being innovative is admirable, but i would like to see Panini get their regular card business in order first. With that i mean, no more sticker auto's for high-end stuff, no more one guaranteed redemption per box and no more 12+ months of redemption processing. Gold plated stuff, video cards and who knows what else we will see in the future, i like all the ideas but please get your core-business straightened out first Panini!
