Babcock need to give the Red Wings a tongue-lashing. You cannot get a 3 or 4 goal lead, then expect to coast.

Brad Stuart again causes 2 goals for the other team. When will somebody recognize that this Pylon is not NHL calibre. He is headed the same way he was, when he lost the 7th game against the Pens in the final........suffering Brain Cramps, OOP, and gifting goals to the other team.

He is by far the most frustrating Red Wing that I've had to watch since Doug Houda, Bob Essenssa, and Tim Sieveldae.

    Pathetically inept.

Completely agree about Stuart. The only thing he can do is block shots. To be honest though, I'd still rather have Stuart than Ericsson. I feel we should at least give Kindl some time. Anyways, great game minus the late rally..Datsyuk looks incredible and we looked incredible the first 2 periods. We need to get Hank back..once he's back we're only going to get better.

By the way...is it me or has Ilya not looked like Ilya at all? I heard people all over saying he could steal a series blah blah blah...ain't seen nothing yet.

Bryzagalov is screened to death. He should have had his stick on the ice for the Rafalski goal, but the Red Wings to their credit, change the angle of the shots from the point on every opportunity.

Some tough sight lines for him in this game.

Now that I've had some more time to watch the replays, highlights, etc..

    Game 2 Thoughts:

    1. Playing a full 60 minutes. Wings have got to play hard the entire game. Game 1 they came out slow and unenthusiastic and just got plain out-worked in the 3rd period today. Gotta be much better.

    2. Turnovers. Our defenseman (Stuart, Ericsson, Rafalski) have got to turn the puck over a lot less, especially in our own zone.

    3. Howard, try to channel just a little bit of Osgood's playoff spirit. I'm not saying all the goals were his fault...but c'mon now.

    4. Anyone else think the refs were just trying to give PHO the game in the 3rd? I don't really get into that referee blaming crap but it was gettin' a little ridiculous in the 3rd. Doesn't surprise me though, considering PHO is the NHL's team now..

    5. Pavel Datsyuk. I don't care what anyone else says, he is the best player in the NHL hands down. I usually try to take off the homer glasses when I talk about hockey and be reasonable, but there is no convincing me about this topic any other way. There is no player in the NHL I'd rather have on my team for a game right now than Pavel.

I read an interesting little statistic today, thought I'd share it. Detroit was 4th in the league this year in PIM's, averaging 3.9 per game. Through the first two games of this series Detroit has averaged 17.6 PIM's per game. Coincidence?

Well I can't speak to any of that but the parade to the penalty box in the last game just about let the Coyotes sneak back into the game.

Great game. This series showcased exactly what makes Detroit such a contender...secondary scoring. Even without Zetterberg & Franzen we still have other guys showing up (i.e. Helm, Miller, Holmstrom)..

Howard hasn't been abysmal as well...which is always good.

Feel good going into the next round knowing that the Wings will get some much deserved rest.
