Hi, I am sending to Canada over 400 worth in cards from a trade, tomorrow. I understand that there is no delivery confirmation in canada. I was debating whether or not to claim the cards on insurance and if i have to state the full value of the cards on the customs certificate if i were to forgo claiming them on insurance. any advice? I really dont want to spend $$$ if i do not need to.

Yes it is insane. I send in a bubble mailer, top loader, sometimes 1 touch depending on the card. No plain white envelopes or anything like that. Total cost to me is 2.75 not including anything for my time, which takes roughly 2 minutes from listing the card to packing it and taking it to the post office. At that rate 24 cents times 30 cards an hour is $7.20, $3 less than minimum wage in Ontario. Nobody thinks of the handling part of the shipping and handling.
Now I charge less than it costs because I can't afford to be restricted or suspended from eBay because of ignorant people who don't understand how things work.

Yup, I know how you feel. I was at 4.7 for charging 3.00 per bubble mailer. I combined with out charging any extra unless it was a thick package and yet it is almost impossible to get a package from the States with out paying 4.00. Oh and only 4.8 for shipping time even though I always ship within two business days of receiving payment.

I ship same day or next day at the latest and get hit on shipping time too. The DSR's are not fair when someone can just leave whatever they want and not have to justify it. We should all just leave 1's for everything, what's eBay gonna do, kick everybody off?

I think the best thing is to ask that no stars are left.

It's getting more and more ridiculous with ebay. Packages take pretty much the same time to arrive as always, but nowadays half the buyers message me "where is my item etc" before these ever reach them ... what happened to patience and common sense?
An item that sold April 16 -- today is April 21 and I get an ebay message "where is my item? when will you ship!" I'm sure that this user who has a feedback rating of "2" will be dinging me on DSR because their item has taken more than 5 days to arrive.

For sure. I have been sending to the U.S at 2.46 for a while now. Even sent a few expresspost for 22 and change.
Gas is 1.35 a litre here and expected to hit 1.50 this summer.
Sign of the Times for sure (no pun intended)

Stuff from Canada to USA goes through USA customs, stuff from USA to Canada goes through Canada customs.
