Sidney Crosby has setback
PITTSBURGH -- Sidney Crosby acknowledged he recently had a setback and experienced symptoms during his recovery from a concussion, but the Pittsburgh Penguins star said he isn't worried that he won't be ready for the start of next season.
Crosby addressed reporters on Friday for the first time in weeks, on the day the Penguins packed up and dispersed after being eliminated from the NHL playoffs. He admitted that the reason he hasn't been on the ice for non-contact drills or practices for the past two weeks was because he had experienced headaches and other symptoms.

I've seen the scene of the Caps game now dozens of times and still wouldnt rule out the possibility that it was an accidental collisiion, doesnt really look like an intentional headshot to me. anyway, even if it was intentional, what is pretty evident however, is that in that scene SC was in blind flight, wasn't watching where he was moving, only looking at the puck, so that point was in his own responsibility imo

As a Pens fan, I don't think Steckel did anything wrong at all. Crosby wasn't looking, and it looks to me like Steckel is almost trying to get out of the way of Crosby. The problem is that Steckel is 6'5", Crosby is 5'11". If Steckel was Crosby's height, it's a shoulder to shoulder collision that doesn't merit a second look. But because Crosby's head is almost in line with Steckel's shoulder, well, you saw the outcome.
This was an e:60 story on ESPN about a LaSalle University football player who suffered "Second Impact" syndrome. The story hit home for me because:
A. The Crosby situation
B. I was there and saw the whole thing go down (I'm a Duquesne grad, it was my freshman year, and I knew the kid that hit him)
Had the Hedman hit been harder than it was (which he took a few days after the Steckel hit), who knows what could have happened to him.Last edited by pghin08; 05-09-2011 at 10:02 AM.

Who thinks you should stop posting before you make yourself look less informed on the issue?

less informed? everyone saw the hit at the classic and who would've allowed themselves to play in the next game if they had a concussion from the wc.

He didn't have any symptoms until the day of the following game and probably didn't know it was a concussion until after he got tested following the Hedman hit.
