Discount boxes at Walmart...worth anything?

Just curious...

In Walmart, I often see discount boxes in their card shelf.

A lot of it is like 2008 forward.

Is any of this stuff worth a shot? Even if you hit one card.....

Is it worth the risk?

it is a gamble, but usually it pays off well, just depends on product

I don't think so, even with it being marked down it would still probably be pretty hard to get anything worthwhile and chances are the marked down ones are all retail versions

Depends on what you're talking about. They've had single packs of 07-08 UD2 for $1 lately...I've cleared the shelf twice in the hopes of a Toews YG. They do have some real dud products like Ultra and/or Artifacts, but stuff like the UD1/2 tins you can't go too badly with.

I got a Chris Campoli jersey out of a 09/10 Artifacts Blaster. Fishing for YGs would likely be your best value option.
I am building the 08/09 UD MVP so it's good for set building.

i once saw a 07 parkhurst(or something along the lines of that) full hobby box rewrapped, at walmart for 30$
sometimes they just have the weirdest things in wal mart

my wal-mart has something that's like 6-7 years old and wanted I think 50-60 for it (hobby box), no thanks lol

I've picked up $10 blasters of 2-3 year old Artifacts and usually hit something I can at least trade.
Once bought a blaster of Black Diamond for $15 and hit a nice Gretzky quad JSY.

It's a gamble, but if you're looking to trade it's usually worthwhile if you've got $10-$20 to burn. I wouldn't do it as a resale investment, though.
