I'm guessing a 90's box of Pinnacle...mine has those too.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

It's something like that, and the price is like 3/4 the price of a new release box. No logic there lol

I was at Target the other day and spied a few blasters of 08-09 BAP for $11.99. Figured I'd try one out because there's a lot worse things than an auto for $11.99...one Brent Burns autograph later, I'm not so sure. :-p

Some of the UD tins contain Hobby packs. I grabbed one tin of 08-09 UD2 Hobby (8 packs) for $10 and couple weeks ago and walked out with two YG's (can't remember who, they sucked), a Stammer Victory RC, Luke Schenn Gold Victory RC and a Patrick Roy UD Game Jersey.
So hobby tins are totally worth it IMO especially if they're marked down. The retail blasters, though, not so sure, but if you're looking to complete the common set they are worthwhile.

I can explain the difference.
Booster Pack is usually reserved for gaming cards, like Pokemon, Panini Adrenalyn and the such.. I think some people confuse them with fat packs. Fat packs are usually like 2 packs in one and are as the name implies fat. Generally they are also a big letdown. Not worth buying IMO. This is what they look like:

Blasters are sealed boxes containing packs of cards. They are generally Retail packs and the box should have the word "Retail" somewhere on it. Not bad if you get them at a discount. I wouldn't bother paying more than $10 because most of the time they don't have much of anything worthwhile inside. Lots of commons. Blasters generally look like this:

Panini does a pretty good job with Blaters, especially with the Certified which almost always contain one pretty good hit.
If you read the fine print on packs, you'll notice the odds of getting certain cards. Retail packs always have much lower odds.
Example: A hobby pack of UD1 has 1:24 of containing a UD Jersey card. A retail pack is something much closer to 1:200.

I bought some 08-09 Series 2 UD blasters for $10 each at Wally World and opened them with my gf. She actually hit a jersey in one of them (Martin Gerber), odds are 1:240. Also, you basically get 2 YGs per blaster it seems, 1:6 for the blasters I opened and they had 12 packs. There were also OPC blasters, Artifacts blasters, Powerplay blasters, and UD Choice blasters when I was looking. I stuck with the UD basically because I knew there would be YGs.

There are generally two easy ways to tell a blaster from a retail or hobby box:
1) The blaster will be much lighter, as it only has a fraction of the packs as a retail/hobby box (in most cases)
2) Blaster boxes are almost always taller than they are wide; hobby boxes almost never are.
