Not defending the seller specifically here (ok maybe I am in some ways and no, I have no idea who they are), but in response for all EBAY sellers, anyone that does a lot of business through EBAY can probably see where this guy is coming from. PWE is just lame, I agree, but if you looked at his feedback before bidding you would clearly see he is a PWE shipper and 600 people have had no issue with it. It's mainly collectors on a forum like this or HI that absolutely stick to the padded mailer, team bag, decoys for added protection, etc shipping methods and expect it. No one should just expect it on EBAY, there are a ton of PWE shippers with a ton of positive feedback and very few complaints. Before I bid on anything, I do my homework on them unless I have dealt with them before. Buyers have to take some of the blame for this kind of stuff, why would anyone assume the seller is going to ship in a padded mailer if it doesn't say he does in his description? Maybe because you or I or most people in the collecting world do ship that way doesn't mean everyone selling on EBAY does. It is not a requirement of EBAY or Paypal rules, so why would anyone just assume or expect it? The guy has 600 or so positives and only 4 negatives, and those negatives came after EBAY changed their rules so that sellers could not leave a negative. Since then, more and more buyers (and I'm not a racist although Quebec is not a race so......) especially from Quebec are filing charge backs left and right and leaving negative feedback for no reason. I know a lot of people who sell on EBAY who refuse to sell to Canada now, mainly because of all the EBAY thiefs from Quebec. Call it what you will, but that is not racist or communist or sexist or whateverist, it is a well known common occurance nowadays and many sellers have had enough. You can only get ripped off so many times before you say enough is enough. I talked to a Paypal rep a few months ago about an issue, and she said about 80% of their charge backs they receive are from Quebec, imagine that, 80% all from one place. We are talking worldwide buyers on EBAY, and one area makes up 80% of charge backs, what does that tell you?

Is the guy rude? It sure seems that way, but it's funny that only 4 people have an issue with him out of 600+ people who have dealt with him. What does that tell you? Tells me the guy is probably a fairly reasonable person based off the majority of his feedback, but he knows he got screwed by a couple of buyers and EBAY and Paypal have given him no recourse or way to protect himself. They completely cater to the buyer, even though the buyer isn't paying EBAY a penny for the transaction. The seller eats all the fees, has to eat all the negatives and neutrals and basically bend over to the buyers now, so I can certainly see why the guy might get a bit agitated and go off on people if he thinks they are screwing him. I have been in his shoes, I know I have been screwed and stolen from by EBAY buyers, yet as a seller there is nothing you can do which really ticks you off.

In this specific case, I don't understand why you gave him a neutral:

    1. You asked him to ship to your friends address, however, you were asking him to break EBAY and Paypal policy by doing this. If you don't ship to the confirmed address on the Paypal payment, Paypal will not cover you if a charge back is filed. So why should he ship to an address other then the confirmed Paypal address?

    2. You agreed to his shipping and handling charges when you bid on his item, so obviously you felt it was reasonable before you bid.

    3. The item arrived undamaged, quickly, and exactly as described in his auction.

This is what I don't understand, and why a lot of sellers are getting ticked off with buyers nowadays. You got exactly what you paid for, the seller didn't do anything wrong (initially) other then not respond to your email where you ask him to break policy and take even more risk by not shipping to the confirmed address. Unless I knew you personally, I wouldn't ship to another address either. Sorry to rant on you about this, but honestly, what did the guy do wrong to have you call him out like this. If you look at it from his side as the seller, I can absolutely see why he goes off on buyers. He could leave out all the really harsh comments, but he is Canadian so it's not like it's a Finland or US seller bashing on him, so not sure how he can be "racist".

I'm sure I will be in the minority on this, but anyone who has been in this hobby and selling on EBAY for more then a couple years will understand what I am talking about here. Many people won't say this stuff even though they are thinking it, and sometimes it just needs to be said. With the EBAY and Paypal rules the way they are now, sellers should be issued a tube of vaselline by EBAY anymore, because the sellers are getting jobbed more and more now. Buyers expect the moon and to be treated like royalty on every purchase, whether it's .99 cents or $900 dollars, why is that? Because EBAY allows buyers to demand everything under the sun and if they don't get everything they want, as absurd as some of it might be, they can jsut leave a negative and there's nothing the seller can do. It's really become ridiculous anymore how badly sellers are treated.

i get where you are coming from, but he never even responds to emails..which is bad in the 1st place..and look its like the 1st neutral i ever gave in more than 600 item bought...

i'm not difficult, but the item was badly protected...and thats it...and he has no manner when talking to people..i asked hima quesiton about the crosby auto..before i left the neutral..he had no manner, and was really rude to me..when i asked about why he shipped in a PWE he never responded...Sorry but that shows no respect..and trying to do what he is doing to get revenge is immature..

I get what you are saying, and I'm sorry if I came across rude to you which I absolutely did not intend to. It really is sad if he is doing this for revenge, but I can actually see why he is doing it because that's all he can do because of EBAY policies and rules. It is sad that sellers go to these lengths for revenge, and it clearly shows how EBAY and Paypal screw the sellers so much that it makes them do stupid things like this. If EBAY allowed sellers to leave neutral or negatives like they used to, a lot of the thieves and rude buyers would not be around for long. They really need to rethink how they treat sellers, you have been selling long enough, I'm sure you have had to deal with some really nasty buyers in your time just like I have, and at times felt like you were being taken advantage of with no help from EBAY. I very rarely sell there anymore, I would rather sell for less money here or on HI anymore as at least I know I am dealing with good people and won't have to deal with any of these charge backs or thiefs like there are on EBAY. Although, I did have a guy try to steal from me here on SCF a few months back, so I guess we aren't really safe anywhere anymore.

I didn't read the few long replies so if it was answered I am sorry. As for what he is doing its obviously feedback retaliation/extortion. Contact ebay, explain the situation and they will gladly remove any feedback he leaves you.

Yeah i get that, but is ell tons on ebay and have no problem with their rules or policies to protect the buyer..

When you ship tracked you are SAFE...And i learned that he ships anything under 5$ in a PWE...but charges the same shipping amount...to make more money...I asked some gusy who dealt with him , btw if he had responded to my emails i would'Ve l give him a positive feedback..anyways too late now..

Oh and he asked so rudly for a revision that i added I polite and BEWARE BAD SELLER...my originla statement was much nicer..

    As simple as that

It may not be expected to be in a bubble mailer if he charges 2$ for shipping but for 3.50$ I would be expecting bubble mailer, top loader team bag and all for it to be protected.

Also I had an occasion like this in my like 15 transactions where a guy charged me 4$ for shipping and I got the card in a penny sleeve in a PWE. He is lucky he responded kindly to my message because I was prepared to leave neutral but instead I left positive with a 1 star rating on shipping. I do agree with his choice of giving neutral because of the way the seller communicated with him. He could've said anything politely and just received positive but he has to come off as a rude person which obviously makes it a lot less pleasant to try and work something out with him

not much you can do. sounds like he'll ding you no matter what. I'd send the card and follow up to his neg/nuetral with the story.

I wouldn't worry about the neg effecting your account much at all no matter how mad you must be. This guy seems like he'll have plenty of future issues as a bad seller.

Max, this seller seems to be a real a hole. I hope he gets booted soon. He can always start a new account but it will catch up with him.
I have had similar things happen and if you can prove it was a revenge negative Ebay will remove it. They will help you, this time anyways. Good luck!
