I guess to each their own in this situation. It's kinda like the "what came first... chicken or the egg" because there really is no definitive answer for this.

I disagree. I love the sport of hockey, and the more of it to watch is more enjoyment and variety than the everyday baseball games.

We all love the sport (those that post); but this has to do more with Marketing the sport IMO... in order to capture the imagination of the fringe fans, Hockey cannot (should not) have the SC Finals running concurrent to the NBA Finals.

Gotta say I agree here. I love hockey and I need more than just quitting cold turkey in April when the Wild don't make the playoffs...again. It's a good thing that's when turkey season starts. lol

simply because the NHL needs more rest days between travel periods than the NBA. NBA would be forced to spread out their schedule more if they had more teams being represented in Canada. Both leagues still play the same amount of games

I enjoy watching hockey, so why would I want to watch less of it?

Same here. I love still being able to watch hockey in June. Maybe if the season started a month earlier and ended a month earlier, I wouldn't mind because the amount of time off would be the same. But with hockey ending in mid june I'm left impatiently waiting for hockey in September. The last 2-3 weeks before exhibition games begin always seem to drag on for me and so do the few weeks of exhibition games!

I think part of the reason why I love watching hockey in June is because I could care less about the other sports going on throughout the summer (NBA playoffs...except for the Mavs winning last night, MLB, golf, CFL, NFL, racing, etc.). The only other sports I really watch during the spring & summer are soccer and the men's tennis majors.
