Weird...I like AP. Guy is a veteran, a player that knows his role, and is a good person off the court. I'd like for us to hold onto him for another year to help mentor Eyenga, Manny, and any other young wing players we may bring in. He is the kind of guy you want the young guns to learn from.

As far as the rest of our roster, I really really hope we can find a place for Ramon. I know he might be the odd man out since we have Baron and will soon have Kyrie, but it would be smart to hold onto Ramon in my opinion, considering Baron is getting up there in age and has had some injuries the last few years. We managed to have a 3 PG rotation last year with Mo, Gibson, and Ramon for a while, don't see why we can't do the same with Baron, Kyrie, and Ramon. Baron can slide down to the 2 spot at times. That being said, I am praying we get rid of Gibson. Get his useless behind out of here. Thanks for Game 6 in 07, now get out of here.

At SG/SF, I already said I'd like for us to keep AP as a mentor to Eyenga and Manny. I'd love to keep Manny since he has shown that he can be an effective role player. He has good vision, he is pretty athletic, decent jumper, decent at getting to the rim, and he can play both guard spots. I'm puzzled that he wasn't even drafted in the 2nd round to be honest, even if he was injured and couldn't particpate in any tryouts. As much as I don't like Alzono Gee, I also wouldn't mind us keeping him around for another year. He feeds off of Baron very well with this athleticism.

As far as our big men, I know I want us to trade Hickson for anything we can possibly get, trade him before the rest of the league finds out he is nothing more than a Drew Gooden clone. I think Ryan Hollins deserves another year, he isn't that great of a player on most nights, but he is athletic for a 7 footer. Give him a full year with Baron, see if he can make something happen. Keep Samardo, he showed some promise when he was put into the starting line-up. And Jamison...I don't really care. If we are going to trade him, we should do it at the trade deadline.

Ramon's agent came out and said that if we draft another PG, they will be looking for a trade. SO BYE BYE RAMON. Also, AP is useless to us now. His only value is to be a mentor to the rookies -- which we don't need with the aquisition of Baron, really (especially what we may be able to get out of him). Boobie improves every year statistically and could be a great role player of the bench. And what's wrong with JJ being a guy similar to drew gooden, who is just in his 3rd year??? Gooden AVGed close to a double double a good portion of his career. AND JJ has shown lots of promise this year, especially towards the end. THE LAST TO MONTHS HE AVGed 19 PPG, 11 RPG ( > DREW GOODEN). I am biased though dealing with anything Hickson.

I still have hope that Ramon can find a spot on our roster. Baron will be a great mentor for Kyrie since they are both PG's. But Baron can't mentor everyone, you can't have a team with one veteran and the rest of your roster consisting of 1st and 2nd year players, which is why we keep AP. I don't see what is wrong with holding onto AP for one more year. He is a smart team player, he knows his strengths and weaknesses, and he isn't a cancer in the locker room. Seems like the ideal guy for the youngsters to learn from. Plus, if he doesn't do very well, who cares? We aren't contending anytime soon, and having another high draft pick never hurt anyone.

I'll have to pass on commenting further on Gibson. He has simply outstayed his welcome with his terrible defense, inability to run the offense, and inability to create for himself or others. But hey...at least we are paying him almost 5 million a year for the next 3 years to stand in the corner and chuck up 3's!

And what is wrong with JJ being similar to Gooden is that Gooden is extremely inconsistent and has a low basketball IQ. Plus, don't know if you've read this, but JJ's agent seems to think his client deserves a pretty hefty contract after this season. Last thing the Cavs need while in rebuilding mode is to sign an inconsistent, low-IQ player to a hefty long-term deal. Remember when we signed Drew Gooden to a big long-term deal? Remember how painful that was? I personally don't want to go through that again.

That is true, but you can't teach smarts to a player at this level. And we also know that he thinks he deserves a max contract, and 99.9% of the people on these boards would agree with me that he is no where near a max deal player.

I really just don't like AP and what he brings to the team anymore. He was definatley a player to fit in when LeBron was there, now he's just dead weight. I think 99 percent of Cavs fans agree with you about Gibson. He's all but gone I would imagine if they take Irving.

i agree... he doesn't deserve a max contract. but he wont get a max contract pretty much anywhere so he will probably find that oout sooner or later.

Sessions isn't a true PG anyways....why not keep him and let him play SG?

I just hope the Pistons get a good pick, hopefully Kemba, but I doubt he'll be there at #8.

    HI

I have noticed that lots of people haven't been talking too much about the draft this year and thought this could be fun. Just list your opinion of the top 14 lottery picks and see what others think. Personally I think (and hope) the Cavs will trade up to the 2nd pick. Anyways...here's my 14:

    1. Cleveland Cavaliers Kyrie Irving
    2. Minnesota Timberwolves Derrick Williams
    3. Utah Jazz Brandon Knight
    4. Cleveland Cavaliers Jonas Valanciunas
    5. Toronto Raptors Enes Kanter
    6. Washington Wizards Kemba Walker
    7. Sacramento Kings Jan Vesely
    8. Detroit Pistons Bismack Biyombo
    9. Charlotte Bobcats Marcus Morris
    10. Milwaukee Bucks Tristan Thompson
    11. Golden State Warriors Kawhi Leonard
    12. Utah Jazz Jimmer Fredette
    13. Phoenix Suns Markieff Morris
    14. Houston Rockets Alec Burks

    lmk what you think!

Good job at 4 saying Valanciunas over Kanter because with Kanter, there are buyout issues, and Cleveland needs talent now.

If Utah gets Knight, that would be great. Harris isn't a true point, and Knight is. They could run both of them, kind of like how the Mavericks run Barea/Terry and Kidd.

I do however disagree with Kemba going to the Wizards at 6. They drafted Wall, a point, number one last year.. no need to have Kemba sit on the bench or something of the sort, and he is the most NBA ready player in this draft besides Derrick Williams.

    Just my $.02 cents.
