I agree with some of the reasons mentioned for hard signed auto. I stopped buying baseball cards all together when the norm became sticker autos. The last straw was when i purchased a box of Bowman's Best and the rookie auto /25 had an upside down sticker on it.
For hockey i only buy mostly The Cup which has been all hard signed since the first year where some where sticker autos and a bit of Ultimate and soon to be Dominion.
I place picture frame autos in the same class as sticker autos to be avoided.
Everyone has an opinion and this is mine.

It doesn't matter too much to me, but the first on-card auto I ever pulled still has me in awe and I remember pulling it out of the pack with trembling hands:

I hadn't ever pulled too many autos, but to pull an on-card sig of one of my all time favorite players was amazing! So, yeah, I would have to say it almost seems that there's more quality and meaning behind an on-card auto.

I prefer hard-signed however my PC guy tends to have more sticker autos than hard-signed. I like ITG stickers over the rest because they give you more space to sign. Alzner has become rather flamboyant with his signature lately and most stickers really hold back his wild pen skills.

I'd rather have an on-card auto, but I don't really have a problem with stickers. Unless the signature is horribly cut off on the sticker, it's doesn't make a difference to me. I'd take the hard signed one over a sticker any day, but it's not a big deal to me.

A lot of every manufacturer's stuff is stickers. I'm not really a big fan but there are some sets that incorporate them very well into the design. It's something that is accepted within the hobby, whether we like it or not.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

I definately prefer on card , certainly not becaue the player touched it , it just looks cleaner , but stuff like this softens the blow of a sticker graph, and if thats what they have to do to get the card in my hand I can live with it

This is my favorite set to collect and most of the Autos are legiable.
I prefer on card but ITG does a good job making the sticker blend in with the card.

I don't mind either, but it's obvious hard signed is better most of the time. The best thing about sticker autos is that you can pick up an autographed card of the players you collect for a cheaper price than hard signed, an auto is an auto IMO.

It's about preference, but personally I won't buy anything mid-high end if it's stickered.
It wouldn't be so bad if the stickers were larger, but with their current size, often the auto comes off the sticker. Additionally, there isn't much room for too improvisation. Just compare the BAP auto's - they all kind off... look the same.
