Devils did not give a QO to D:Anssi Salmela who was traded from Jersey to Atlanta for Niclas Havelid and then re-acquired a little less than a year later in the Ilya Kovalchuk trade.

Devils made qualifying offers to: D Matt Corrente, D Mark Fraser, G Jeff Frazee, D Maxim Noreau, RW Nathan Perkovich, D Matt Taormina, LW Alexander Vasyunov, C Steve Zalewski, RW Vladimir Zharkov

Rumor is Vasyunov is going to the KHL next year and the Devils made the offer just to protect his rights.

    MacIntyre is a UFA :)

The FA I'd really like to see them sign (even if they have to overpay a bit) is Konopka. He plays the tough guy / enforcer role well - but can also win faceoffs (something they need).

Problem the Oilers are starting to run into though, is room. IMO - Hall, Eberle, Paajarvi, Gagner, Hemsky, Horcoff, Smyth, Jones, and Omark should all be making the team next year. If RNH can make the roster too, that only leaves room for 2 "regular" forwards. I've also got high hopes Anton Lander making the club next year.

If they add one FA forward to the mix, there's no room for Brule or Cogliano (who are not going to turn into Superstars, but they're decent NHLers). I wouldn't be shocked to see a Brule buy-out (if he's healthy) but I would also expect another summer of Cogliano trade rumors.

They need to add some more sandpaper to the lineup.

You could probably add MacIntyre to that list.....I hope they sign him personally but I just don't see it.

Mac is a UFA....I forgot that. I'm not good.

Forgot about Konopka too, he'd be great to have on the team. I'd add Hemsky, Gagner and possible Horcoff with Cogliano as guys who may be gone beofre the season starts, not all obviously but a couple for sure. I'd never have thought Horcoff until seeing the trades from this past week. I am also not sold on Omark

    Blues did not qualify D'Agostini.

Glad to see they offered Bishop a contract, hopefully he will play well in camp and take the back-up spot.

Maybe that will be what puts an end to all the whining I saw from some Habs fans about "how we gave him away for nothing."

Nope. Top comment in a thread this morning on HI/O was about how the Habs gave away such legends as Latendresse, Grabovski, and D'Agostini away for nothing. *sigh*

I love the Internet. I love many of my fellow Habs fans. But the invention of the former has done many bad things for the reputation of the latter. LOL
