Looks like some of the folks on both sides are making a last minute push to try to put together an agreement. I have a feeling that the big hitters are willing to sit this out for the entire season. Getting my college basketball brackets ready.

NBA owners, union meet for 6 hours
NEW YORK -- There's still time for a deal to keep the entire NBA season intact, though it's running out.
And with that in mind, owners and players realize it's time to stop talking about each other, and start talking to each other.
They returned to the bargaining table Wednesday, meeting for about six hours in just their second bargaining session since the league's lockout began on July 1.

Sources: NBA, union to meet again
Officials from the NBA and the players' union will meet again Wednesday in New York City, according to sources close to the situation.
The meeting will be only the third since the league locked out its players on July 1. But if Wednesday's meeting is productive, sources said the sides are expected to pick up the pace and come together again Thursday and perhaps Friday.

Great article from Chris Sheridan on how the sides are closer than they're presenting:

Great post. I too myself was curious about this, because most people were saying there was no hope for a full season, let alone half of one. However, Stern said that he still thinks they have enough time to make a deal before having to move back games after their last meeting. I still have hope, and haven't really thought about NOT having a full season......

I just overheard on Mason & Ireland radio show that Roger Mason, a player and VP of the players association, just recently tweeted: "looking like a season," but was then deleted and he claimed that his account was hacked
Hopefully this is a good sign.

I know lots of players' accounts do get hacked quite often on Twitter... but who knows, tommorow the sides can say they're close to an agreement, or talk like they did after the second meeting (they will probably say the same thing as last week's though)

Glad some of you guys have faith too!! It's just so much fun to turn on games at 4pm on the west coast ... fall/winter/spring just wouldn't be the same without the NBA.
I was 50/50 a few days ago, but with all the recent reports, I think these guys will get things done. They actually might get it done sooner than the NFL, in relation to when games started....who knows.
Lets just hope they can work things out. The players bolting to other countries might have put pressure on the owners, and the idea of getting tiny game checks in a foreign currency started scaring players. Thanks for posting the link about how the sides are closer - seems like it's a lot of money, but in the scope of the NBA - they can work things out.

Players and owners had back to back meetings, the first time this has happened since the lockout started. Another possible meeting tomorrow. This is a positive sign. A LOT of money is at stake for both sides.
