If you are insinuating me again, I've actually never been to the drudge report. I'd rather NRO, heritage, and rarely becks blaze...

Well that soon got to bashing each other. As a Brit I would like to point out that our government is Conservative. The Prime Minister is the leader of the Conservative party. Since they have been in charge they have cut public services, cut education programs for the inner cities, cut policing, cut the armed forces, cut pensions, raised vat to 20%, put more that a million people out of work. They have pandered to the bankers, bent down to Murdoch, continue to pour money into pointless wars in the middle east.

So to all of you who think Britain is socalist think again, a Conservative government is just that. Go back in recent history to find out what Conservative governments have done to the UK. Slash and burn but make sure your rich buddies are ok. Conservative governments killed British industry in the 80's and 90's, sold all our national commodities to overseas concerns, put millions out of work and instilled a me me me culture in the UK.

From what I read it's the Labour party that put you in the dumps. Didn't they run the country down the tank the last 13 years or so? Didn't Thatcher have to come rework the country after the labour debacle before her?

Thatcher destroyed Britain during her terms, she destroyed industry, put millions out of work, sold off commodities to foreign concerns, privatised the public transport system (which is now woeful), sold off social housing creating a shortage. She made the rich richer and the poor poorer.

Labour may have made mistakes in their policy, but I will tell you this, the Conservatives would do everything they can to hammer the lower classes regardless of what the previous government did. It's their way. The party of the rich.

What government caused the Poll Tax riots?
    The Miners Strike riots?
    The Student riots?
The riots in London right now?

Conservative, thats who. Oh and please stop saying Europe is Marxist, because it's not and never has been. Except of course eastern Europe.

Not sure I believe all the problems were from Thatcher. Didn't the socialist party create the poll tax riots? wasn't it sort of the fair tax discussed here in the usa?
The mine riots were because she wanted to close mines that were underperforming? It was also done to bust up those unions that were sucking the gov't dry?? Seems like the public was on Thatchers side on the matter.

You really don't think you have Marxist Philosophies over there? After the war you didn't lean toward Marxist philosophies? It seems these things you bring up relate to that pretty well.
" From a Marxist perspective, inequality is a long term and inevitable consequence of the capitalist system."
Seems like what you've discussed can relate?

The people created the poll tax riots, it was demonstrations against an unfair tax, the fact it got out of hand was due to heavy handed policing. I know this because I was there. The Miners had the right to strike as the government was wiping out an entire industry and putting thousands of workers and towns on the scrap heap. Many of those areas have still not recovered. If you kill the industry surely you should have a policy in place that will get the guys bck into work. Thatcher just left them high and dry.

The unions were defending their members, I don't follow how a Union can suck dry a government. Also if the country votes in a Conservative government how can it be Marxist. Whe Thatcher finally dies there will be thousands lining up to dance on her grave. To some she was a saviour, to others in the working classes she was a curse.

To get back on the current unrest, this is happening in the areas the the current government has forgotten. Education minister Gove has ended the Labour inner city education program, he has cut youth funding to almost zero. The young in this area has been forgotten and has got angry. I'm sensible enough to know rioting is not the answer, but it was going to happen. These areas are a powder keg waiting to explode. This government is in bed with big business and the bankers and is always going to hammer the lower classes, it's the Conservative way.

So sad but true. This is coming from someone who is actually in Europe and sees the damage first hand that conservative poilcies that are designed to make the rich richer and the poor poorer. I will listen to him before I will listen to a conservative fan boy who gets all of his news and information from fox news.
