Ralph Kiner question
This is a question for the folks that have had a success from Mr Kiner..
whats your secret? lol I have had 2 RTS in a row from him which isnt a big deal but wonder if there might be something im not doing that i should be?
Has anyone ever sent the request with NO return address? That way he cant RTS or atleast has to open it to see whats going on, or just pitch it in the trash. This method would be my last option of course because i really dont want to lose the cards & i could see it going strait from the mailbox to the trash can.
anyone ever tried " Donation enclosed " written on the outside of the envelope? I have seen this method tried with other greats but im wondering if it would even matter with Mr Kiner.

I really think he is just hit or miss. He has been a hit as of late judging by reading other successes. Not sure if it makes a different but I type/print all of my envelopes. They look very professional and many times I think some of these guys open the envelopes not knowing they are TTM requests.

Thats an interesting point. Im not sure how you address your request but on ALL my request i write the name, then " ATTN AUTOGRAPH REQUEST" wonder if he see's that & breaks out the sharpie & starts the scribble & RTS dance.
Wonder if i just addressed it in a typed, professional manor without the " ATTN, AUTOGRAPH REQUEST " part, if it would work.
Might give that a shot.. appreciate the input as always mmalpedo01

Sometimes with tougher signers I'll actually try anything to make the envelope stand out. With Kiner I remember drawing a little baseball on the front and putting Baseball H.O.F." around it with a little '75 on the ball. I know it's not much and I don't know if it helped at all but I got him so I'm happy haha. I try anything to differentiate my request from others if the guy is a noted tough graph.

I actually tried this with Red Schoendienst recently. He opened up my envelope and then just transferred everything into my SASE and mailed it back to me unsigned, donation and all, thus costing me even more stamps haha.

I've heard his health has really declined. It has worked for me with Red as well...

As somebody who met bother Schoendienst and Kiner in Cooperstown last month I can say both men are real frail and at times didn't look good.
As for Kiner ttm, I just skip my return addy.

Write his address as the Return Address- Worked for me!
I just dropped a request in the mail to KINER today. He is the first person I've tried this with and I hope it works!
