T.O Antics
Im sure you all have seen the footage today from T.O's departure from training camp today, and his 1 week suspension. I for one, would like to say that as a football fan i'm disgusted that people acutally follow this idiot around. Sure he makes plays, but off the field, he is absurd. Just play the damn game, sign a damn contract, and show us why we should be calling you great. As far as im concerned, im never going to be a collector of his cards. I have his 96 Crown Royale RC, anybody want it? He will never live up to the greatness of Jerry Rice, for T.O is driven by money, not for love of the game.

whoa... first off i would like to comment on the contract signing... he is a player.. he is allowed to hold out until he gets a better offer just like the eagles have a right not to give him a better contract and he doesnt play... its business... second, people follow him because of what he does... name better WR than him... i would say possibly moss or marvin harrison but i would still take TO's physical presence over either of them... that is why he believes he deserves more money

T.O is going to make more money than everyone on this board combined in all our lifetimes. Its called love of the game, not this business B.S. If he loves football so much, then go play and play what contract you signed. Jerome Bettis took a paycut to stay on the Steelers roster. He is a real player. Better WR's than T.O: Like you said, Marvin Harrison, Randy Moss, no.. he is just a minature version of T.O - Jerry Rice is way better than T.O, so is Tim Brown. Personally, i think Muhsin Muhammad is a very good wideout, just not as high profile as T.O. Ricky Proehl comes to mind ( the best WR never to go to a Pro Bowl ) - i can find some more if you want.

im not debating whether or not he is as good or not.. anyone has a right to renegotiate their contract.. and yes it is business... like it or not it is his job. would you like a pay raise in the next year or so? i would venture to guess if your performance is good you will get one. He thought his performance was worth a raise so he wants one to play. Sure he will make more this year than i will in my life but he can also go out there and catch a football better than i will ever be able to.

I understand your point, I just hate that these players are put out there like gods and flaunt themselves like they are god's gift to us. Sure he can catch a football, but i would rather see the humble players who make plays day in and day out get the spotlight. I would rather see the T.O from 1996-1998, but he is long gone. Ever since that pass over the middle from Steve Young in the 1999 Wildcard game, he thinks hes the showstopper, but he has alot more to prove before he thinks about waltzing into Canton. Thats all i will say. Yes its business, but its also wanting to play football on the green, not because of the green.

He signed the contract, so he should honor it. If he wanted more money then he shouldn't have signed in the first place. I hate greedy players like this, you signed so shut up & play !

i agree how many of you grown if you decide you don't like how much you make would tell your company to restructure you contract before you would work?
they'd sure as hell fire you before you could say the word contract

Might wanna watch how you throw around GD.
Second, I agree, this is toally riciculous and he is a disgrace to the hard-working players in the NFL. To make $7 million a year and then say you can't feed your family, not sure what other people think, but how stupid is this guy. He represents EVERYTHING that is wrong in professional sports. I for one like the Eagles, but if he stays I hope they don't win the division. He needs to shut the hell up and honor the contract that he signed, if he was worth more then why did accept the deal to begin with. Just absolute stupidity on his part and I hope he never gets to play in the NFL again (Wishful thinking).
After Moss saying that the fans money wasn't important last year, I despised the guy, still do actually, but at least he is a true hard-working player that doesn't whine about not being paid enough.
