Did this exist with the release done with one card at around 100$ this winter, can't remember the name, but not one of the three manufacturer.
Only 15,386 cards made are 1/1 in the 2010-11 hockey season. A bit less then the number of memorabilia...

That would be Famous Fabrics. Pull a cut 1/1 auto in every pack. Idea...great. For resale, trade, and anything else to move it to someone else...not so great.

2010 National Treasures Football. All rookies are event used and people pay through the roof for this stuff. Panini makes a killing off products like this. You can buy a Montana, Marino, Elway and Aikman auto cards, yes all 4 for the price of 1 Cam Newton auto. He has played in 2 NFL games. Everybody complains about sticker autos as well and 2009 Philadelphia has all on card autos and nobody pays any attention to these cards. $30.00 a box. National Treasures $350.00 a box, 95% sticker autos. Peoples buying habits are strange at times. Thats the best thing about this hobby in my opinion. The freedom to collect whatever you want. I buy cards all the time that people would shake there heads at as they have pretty much no resale value. I collect what and who I like. I could care less what other people say.

Ovechkin has been in the league for 6 seasons, and he already has about 1000 DIFFERENT non-1/1 memorabilia cards on the market, not to mention another 210+ autographed memorabilia cards. More than 1/2 of his non-1/1 cards have some form of memorabilia on them.
I would assume Lemieux is probably much higher than that. When you have 1500 choices for a memorabilia card, demand will go down.

All I know is a have a binder full of useless jersey cards. Really with products like SPGU, Artifacts, Zenith, Certified, Luxury Suite, etc all being loaded with jersey cards that aren't worth anywhere near the price of a pack of the product it makes buying packs and boxes almost pointless. I mean unless you hit some top rookie card or star patch or auto or auto/mem you aren't getting value buying packs or boxes of cards. So much more bang for your buck buying singles or lots.

I made a statement on here in 2004, that Jersey cards would become Common, and in many cases worthless, and I was almost burned at the stake by those members on here that only began collecting Hockey because of availability of Game-Used cards.

lol, people are "afeared" of changed...
I can fully admit that it was the advent of the GU jersey cards that got me back into the hobby....but it's not what kept me around though....
