ebay - payment refunded - why?
Update:
The seller replied to my message. Apparently I should have received a message with the rebate. I am giving the benefit of any doubt I have on this and believe the seller's reason for the rebate - he didn't have the proper size one-touch for the card, left the card on his table with the intention of getting a new holder and came back to find out that his puppy got a hold of it and chewed it up. (DAMN!). He/she offered to send me something to make up for what happened.
I was upset about this one and that really fuelled by original few posts. In the end, I am no longer upset and as I said, believe the seller is telling me the truth.
--------
This is what happened...
I win this auction.
I pay within a few hrs of winning the auction.
I check today and notice my payment was refunded - no explanation provided.
I sent a message to the seller just now to see what happened. I have never had a problem paying before. The transaction is on my credit card (as well as the refund a few days later).
I still want this card. What can, or what should, I do? Thanks for help all.Last edited by Captain Collector; 10-09-2011 at 04:13 AM. Reason: Seller contacted me about what happened

Only thing you can do is wait for a response. If you don't get one I would leave neutral feedback describing what had taken place

He thought he'd get more for it maybe? So he's giving you the money back and relisting it (or selling it elsewhere) without you being able to justify the negative feedback.
At least he's not taking your money and running.

He didn't get enough money for the card. If not that, then he has lost or misplaced the card.
The fact that you aren't getting any kind of an explanation lets you know thats things are probably not above board.
If it were me, the seller would count their lucky stars not to get negged.

Negative for sure, why not? No response plus refund usually equals he got more for it than what you paid.

i agree with the negative...last year i won an awesome platinum red patch auto for like 69 and paid right away the next day noticed the money was refunded and the excuse was that his kid had traded it to a kid down the street...yeah right...hit em with a negative

Give it some time for an explanation if you get none negative and 1 star ratings for sure! That is shady business.

NEGATIVE for sure. People like that shouldn't be on ebay. All 1 star DSR as well. If they were dumb enough to list it as auction then they need to sell it for whatever it sells for.

If you get an explanation and its good. Neutral and explain you paid and got refunded in case seller tries to do it again.
No explanation, give him a negative with 1 star across the board and still explain how you paid, seller refunded and is now ignoring you.
