thats ridiculous if its a practice jersey, especially if they imply that both are game-used cause the left one could easily be game-used

I posted a question about this particular card in the UD Blog.

Thanks for sharing their practice jerseys are yellow. Hopefully, UD will respond to your post.

Good luck getting any answer from UD, of the three card companies they are the least vocal about their memorabilia sources. In fact I've never once heard UD say anything about any of the jerseys they use in cards. I very much doubt they're going to bother investigating a yellow swatch on a Stepan card, and if you do get an answer it will probably be a verbatim response telling you to read the cryptic COA on the back of the card and leave them alone. Between the unsettling COA and the veil of secrecy around UD's memorabilia we have no way of knowing if any of their jerseys are real or from the player on the card because they never tell us anything other than "used in an official NHL game". That's great, but used by whom? The Rick Nash patch in my sig could be from some fourth-string exhibition gamer for all I know.

This is most likely just a case of UD putting the wrong swatch in. It's happened more times than I can count and it will continue to happen.

So our most likely explanations are:
    Wrong jersey
    Non-contact practice jersey

I'm going out on a limb and assuming that it's the wrong jersey. Given that I don't see any other Stepans/Rangers with yellow swatches, it's probably the likely scenario.

Probably a stupid question but, could it be from a US jersey?
I know Canada has a few different jerseys they use on a fairly regular basis (esp in WJC, Under 17, etc) but does the US?

I like how everyone acts so surprised about where these jersey pieces come from. All the card companies are ridiculously shady when it comes this this. Heck, a panini rep told us on these forums that a Savard Shield came from a 88-89 blackhawks sweater, when it was obviously the newer reebok shield and post lockout...and this is a SHIELD card, not some common jersey card.
