The funny thing is that it does not have a number or the actual licensing on the bottom. But it does have the topps logo for authenticity the triangular sticker. I called Topps and they said it was an error and should have never been sent out. Does this depreciate the value? Should I send back to topps for exchange or should I keep it?
I will post a picture of the back when I go home tonight.
Thanks

Interesting update, although sometimes AU cards are NOT numbered. According to TOPPS website, your dual auto card should be limited to only 20. Unless you absolutely hate the Bobcats, I would hold onto this one for a while, to see what the market commands. Within a few weeks, you should be seeing more of this product available. I have yet to see a box of this stuff in the Savannah area. Once again, great pull!
Peace,

Pulled this example off of Ebay. It has RSD-GWI on the top and topps, nba logo, and license info on bottom.
My card is missing those things but has everything else.
Thanks

Yes, it still may be too early to tell. If I was in your situation, I would WRITE a letter to Topps asking them about the card with scanned images attached, and hope to get a MAILED response from them, especially if they indicate that this was an erroneous insert. Otherwise, IF you plan on selling or trading it, you may have difficulty convincing a interested party that it is truly unique. Again, great pull and good luck!

Here is my pic and one from ebay so you can see the difference. I called topps and they said it was an error. I could resend to them for other cards compensation I guess. I do not know if I should keep it or send it back to topps, what do you think?

If youre interested in trading it, I am not that far from Duryea, PA, where Topps is located. I would TAKE it there to see what they said. I am a big Heels fan and would keep it, regardless of what they said abotu the card.
Thanks,
TOm

Yep, it sure appears to be missing a few runs through the printer. It is not uncommon for these newer cards to stick together at times, or it simply could have dropped off the line while printing. Hopefully, it was not intended to be a PROMO or "gift" for the athlete! LOL! I am sure there are plenty of possibilities.
With that being said, some may view the card as LESS valuable without the NBA license and copyright info appearing on it, but others, especially Cats collectors will probably put a premium on it due to its uniqueness. Personally, I would NOT exchange it with Topps unless they agreed that I could CUT IT IN HALF FIRST. This would ensure that the card would get destroyed (like it is supposed to be), and not end up in an employee's collection!
If you are serious about moving it, then you could put it up for a 10 day auction with a RESERVE (to guarantee a certain return). It is hard to get a fair trade for this, because you can't determine what a general consensus value on it is...unless, you make it available to the largest possible audience. Tough call, but YOU are holding the card. Keep us posted!

Consider yourself incredibly lucky! Thats one sweet card!
In my opinion, I would get the card graded. Would increase the value 2-3 fold at least if it grades high, plus may be verified as an error card by BGS/PSA or whoever grades it.
That being said, if you are wanting to sell the card, instead of putting an reserve, which is usually a waste of time if the reserve isnt met, and scares away bidders. Just list the card with a $1000 BIN only and allow OFFERS to be made on it. That way you can see who is willing to pay what, dont accept any offers at the beginning, because you will probably get a few low ball offers by buyers who are willing to pay more. So wait until you get a decent offer your comfortable with and go for it. Thats what I would do, it maximizes your selling potential. Congrats again on the amazing pull, that definately looks like a sure error to me!
