But shouldn't there be the same level of excitement? I thought it should since it came down to a Game 7.

I think another reason why Game 7 wasn't as big at the bar was becuase nobody knew there would be a game 7 until Thursday morning. I'm sure many people were like 'hey, want to head to the bar for the game?' and got responses like 'oh, kinda late notice man, I have plans'

Society has moved away from baseball because of the speed of the game. I would guess most baseball fans tend to be older.

The reason football is so popular to me is the same reason that MMA has become such a huge success. It is intense and fast paced and violent and that is where our society wants to spend their entertainment dollar right now.

I rarely watch a game on TV if it doesn't involve the Mets, while I can watch any football team. Basketball is fine, too.

if you don't get into baseball when your young.... chances are you don't understand the actual difficulty and complexity of the game. Football is more appealing to the eyes, therefore has more fans, which will lead to more card collectors.

This is comparing apples to oranges. Each game has it's technical aspects that separate it's athletes from one another, but to say football players are just playing catch? Come on man!

baseball players are more talented imo, where as football in just playing catch.

Back to the original observation - There are a lot more basball card web sites than football. So SCF is doing a larger volume in football, and this is a really good Hockey B/S/T place also. To all good collecting to you.

actually baseball is the one where most of the time the pitcher and catcher are playing catch while everyone else on the filed is standing around waiting for the hitter to do something. In football, every player on the field is in motion for every play. Also there is a lot more schemes and strategies in football over baseball.
