Of the two definitely go for Certified. It was hugely popular last year and they've gone out and upped the ante even further this year. SPx has been a stale product for a long time now, and is just another UD set.

Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

With the new UD policy limiting SPx from being sold for 90 days for a lot of online sources, I'd ensure that Panini products are given a hard look when they are available on release day. Certified is a solid product!

Panini is usually the time filler between any UD product. Either way its sticker autos, with the exception I think ofthe Program of Excellence Shadowbox cards in SPX, if they are signed.

I usually say to buy product when it's new, but honestly after seeing recent certified breaks, it hasn't looked that great. I'd go spx. Even though it's an old product maybe you can get a good deal on a 08-09 on black friday and hit a stamkos :)

Going to agree with this one. Early reviews and breaks of Certified have been extremely poor. Last year, the one Freshman Signature card was generally junk and even hitting a hot box just meant getting a bunch of parallels that have little to no value. Some of the newer concepts this year, such as the Big Pulls, just look awful. Who wants to pull an oversized piece of jersey out of cardboard to see the whole autograph? Not the smartest design, Panini. The big hits will be the rookie auto jersey cards, but the design on those are pretty horrid and so is the checklist to match. Plus, there is always the chance you will pull a redemption...if you want a headache, I can just hit you over the head with a hammer right now instead of having to deal with Panini's (lack of) customer service.

I would say wait for SPX. Might not be any better than Certified, but at least you can compare the two products at that time.

Thanks for the suggestions! It might just come down to which product has the most Stammers. Waiting for SPX checklist.
