ebay completed listing is much more accurate!
I find a lot of hobby shops and vendors at card shows use beckett, but thats to get get top dollar for cards pretty much. I can't count how many times I have been shown that a mid 90's insert books for $50 and that they will give me a great deal at half off ($25). Too bad I always checked closed listings for my wants and I know I can get that card off ebay for less than $10!

Yeah but ebays not always the best either. Its good for buyers bad for sellers as all it really is, is a complete liquidation of a card
Sellers get more for cards if they own an LCS or at shows
Its funny too because at a show people wont negotiate as much as online, online u dont see the other person so you will pick them apart down to the bone to get the price you want, but face to face you will pay more if you want it
We just need a new better company to rise up and slap beckett in the face

Isn't SCF working on an OPG? Would like to know if that's still in the works. I gave up on Beckett awhile ago...

Insane. No way I'd part with mine for that low. Might have to just keep it and make it a part of my minor mini auto PC.Hidden Content (cards crossed out are pending arrival)
Hidden Content (cards in blue don't have pictures yet)

Keep it.....I was watching that card and was asleep at the wheel when it went off. This is a prime example of why ebay is not a price guide either.

That's a pretty silly statement, I often face pretty stiff competition for the Sedins I pick up, but to each their own opinion i suppose no matter how off-base. I assume you're just trolling so not going to bother debating further.
My bigger gripe with Beckett is that when Henrik had his breakout Hart and Ross year Beckett randomly assigned a significantly higher value to about half his cards than the corresponding Daniels from the same sets... But in many others they list both twins at identical prices. And now that Danny won the Ross and Lindsay, I really think their status is pretty equal, yet Beckett still has Henrik at a huge premium. I think of all players, the Sedin twins best illustrate the randomness of beckett pricing... You can't really get two more identical players than them!

Guys stop complaining about Beckett
It means 0 because nobody uses it
You wanna know what a card is worth you check bay
Only people who use Beckett Typically are card shop owners and a few others and from experience I'll tell you their cards usually are very dusty....

Beckett has its uses like any other resource available to collectors. Sometimes they are on the ball, sometimes less so. It serves a good starting point for negotiations and allows for some leeway as well. I haven't personally used the magazine in the better part of two years now as when it comes to the players I collect I have a stronger idea in mind as to what those cards are worth than I did when I was starting out in the hobby and needed to get a guide. That's not ego, but when you've got 500+ cards of a guy you get a pretty good idea. LOL
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...
