Box Pricing Differences
I know there are quite of few of us Canadians on here, so I wanted to ask and see how you guys deal with the big price differences between online US based stores to your local card shop.
For Example, 11/12 Artifacts can be found for $81-85 on sale at a few stores. But anything local for me is about $110 after taxes.
Does anyone get their boxes crossed shipped? Use a US mailing address, and then have it forwarded to your Canadian address? Seems like it's worth the hassle if you are breaking a lot of boxes per year. At a price difference of $25 bucks, it would only take 4 boxes before you got a "free" one for the savings.
Suggestions?

Not to mention that there is always a chance to get hit with customs fees.

Indeed.. it all depends on your location in Canada for box prices though from an LCS.. big area with lots of demand/competition and you'll see good prices.. but if you don't have that.. look out.
Artifacts costs 15 bucks a pack at the only LCS in town here or 3 for 40 if you are feeling lucky..

Dont order from the US, im dealing with a problem right now from D&A on several levels from one case of Collector's Choice blasters they had on sale. On top of me having to pay about 30$ in duty and tax from customs, they also almost cost me my job by giving a go ahead to do something to the Customs department without my authorization... thats about as far in detail as I will go with that one, save that for another day
80-85$ for Artifacts is a SWEET deal. its usually around 100$

From them, I got hit with duty and 30.00 US for SH to Canada, why buy there if you live in Canada, there made for selling to the US, very small SH to US.

I guess the order would have to be enough to warrant going to the states and picking them up. Ideally, I was thinking of buying a bunch of boxes, getting shipped and held in Montana(I'm in AB) for a flat fee of $5 and then driving down there to pick it up. Probably be only worth for a case or more, but still, we get owned on pricing in Canada.

It's so dumb too because 90% of hockey collectors are from Canada
I could understand jacking up basketball boxes, but hockey boxes should be cheaper than america an ones

My parents have a place in Palm Springs, so I just get it shipped there if I have to and have them bring it back. They're back and forth all the time in the winter.
The only other thing I'll do is if I get anything shipped to Canada from the US, I always use USPS, even if it's more expensive. I've found you're way less likely to pay duty shipping through them then UPS or Fedex. I bought 4 boxes of Topps football last year from Blowout and shipped through USPS to Alberta. The total was around $120US before shipping and there was no duty.

The LCS store near me wants $100 flat for Parkhurst Champions, if I drive 30 mins east I can get them for $80 flat.....
It's weird but its the cost of UD's new rules
