A good thing to check when buying on the Bay is the dates that feedback was received. This can and should also be applied when buying, no matter the feedback.

I encountered a buyer that won an auction I had posted, didnt pay after 4 days, with no contact. I attempted to contact the buyer several times, and after no reply opened a case and eventually got my final value fee refunded.

When I checked the feedback on the user, I noticed there was about a 3 year gap in the feedback. On the early side of it, the feedback was great, zero problems. On the late side of it, the feedback mostly consisted of "buyer did not pay", "Card never recieved", and so on. Just like any email or FB account, an inactive ebay account is easy money for an internet thief.

Don't be lazy or in a rush when bidding, selling, or trading. do your research on your bidders and your bids, it's worth it.

it was specified in the description payment was to be made withing 4 business days, and i didnt open a case after 4 days, i attempted to contact them after 4 days. The case was opened 12 days after the auction ended. After a case is opened the winning bidder has an additional 4 days to reply.

ship enough from US to Canada and you will probably decide to do what I have, stop selling to Canada. I pulled a Nugent Hopkins YG recently and only sold to US buyers, you definitely take a hit doing that with hockey cards, but guys are shady that it just isnt worth it. Actually discourages me from buying hockey cards altogether.

the next best thing is some loser who messaged me tonight saying the Hodgson YG I sold him "has a soft corner......". nothing else, thats all he said. So I'm waiting for the case to open on that one. Ebay is so lopsided with their buyer protection over their seller protection that I have just decided to start selling everything on COMC and call it a day. Just not worth the scammers on ebay.

Just saying, nobody cares about the description for payment terms. People will pay when they pay. Patience seems to always work out for me over the course of my 1000 eBay sales. But yeAh, I agree it is annoying. Remember sometimes people bid and then things happen and they can't pay immediately (or within 4 days)

Its one thing when someone gets back to you and gives a valid reason for not paying. I wouldnt even mind if they suddenly had buyers remorse! But when you dont reply after 20 days of messages from me AND ebay.....

In my opinion, if you cant pay immediatly, for whatever reason, dont bid. circumstances arise, yes, but when your PP account is empty and its gonna take X amount of business days to get money in it....just leave it alone.

"Guys are shady"??? Theres an equal amount of crooked people in the US as there is Canada, actually more considering the population difference. Hardly fair to say dont ship to Canada because they are "shady". Everyone has their stories of bad trades and sales, but narrowing it down to a specific country is pretty harsh.

I recently did a trade on this site with a very trustworthy member (all high positive feedback). The package I sent to him arrived with no problem. However mine didn't show. I chose to let him keep the cards ($80+ SV) and leave him positive feedback no matter what happens. I felt that it wasn't his fault, so why should he be punished. Needless to say, my cards showed up about a week later. Good karma always comes back to aid you in the end.
I think we have to look at the track record of those we buy/sell/trade with before conclusions are made.

    My 2 cents.

Agree with this, but it only takes 1 bad transaction for a good trader to go bad.

Word of advice though, if you plan on tracking your package on the usps website, it is absolutely horrible.
