I hear he's being partnered with Subban on the PP. Let's give the two a few games to settle. I'm hoping to grab Subban on the waiver wire in my pool next week because of this trade.

Absolutely right!!!! Don't we have to sign Price at the end of this season too???? Rinne signed 49M$ for 7 years Price will want more, just remember the last time Habs had troubled signing Price and he was coming off a average season to say the least now he's one of the team leader if not the best player night in night out. I didn't like Spacek but I was telling to myself were done with him at the end of this season now we have 2 more years with Kaberle's big contract :(

LMAO! I like Tomas Kaberle but come on! He is on the decline! I hope he rebounds because I have him in my fantasy hockey keeper league.

He's 33 years old and his play has been in decline for at least the past two to three seasons. He's another big $ contract for a guy on the wrong side of 30.

Spacek is in the 35+ category and is no longer producing the points as he once did. At least Kaberle will not be in the 35+ category during this 3-year contract (plus there are no trade restrictions on his contract like his previous one).
It is obvious the Habs did not get Kaberle for his defensive abilities and more for the powerplay. With the Habs PP at 11.8%, it's too obvious a move like this was going to happen.
Then again, the Lightning have Marc-Andre Bergeron and are only paying him a million per season when the Habs let him go.
I looked on capgeek and there is still over $20M in cap space, even with Kaberle's contract for the next season, so I do not know why people are panicking over about signing Price and Gorges.
Also about Rinne, he is only one of three players that define the Predators and was a Vezina candidate last season. Price will not command $7M a season, probably more closer to the $5M cap hit that Fleury is getting. People forgot the last time a Habs goalie commanded over $5M a season and what happened (Theodore)?

Well kabby scored 2 assists tonight. I might pick him up instead of subban. The first game kabby lays an egg he's going to hear it BIG time.

He won this game all by himself. (ok not really but if you watched what he did today, then yes).
Sometimes it takes a new team to turn guys around. He's 33, not 38.
For now he was the answer, and a whole lot of hockey fans look really really stupid right now.
