so you're calling Bolland an idiot for calling out an entire city yet you do a similar thing he did and seem to think its fine with your opinion? And how many times have you visited Chicago??

I never said I have no problem with Bolland, I said I have less a problem with him than those who defend his idiocy.
As for Kesler's comments, they were blown up here in BC.
As for the comments contradicting each other, they really don't. One is a comment on Bolland, the other is a comment on the average fan. How that can be contradictory is beyond me.
and duwai, please don't twist my words. No, I've never been to Chicago, but please explain to me how saying I would rather be in Vancouver at night than Chicago during the day is the same as saying "There's a lot of weirdos, I'm afraid to leave my hotel room" or however he worded it. I spoke of MY preference, not of the people of Chicago. He spoke of the people of Vancouver. Unproffesional ignorance. In my mind it doesn't matter if he's talking about Vancouver, Boston, Montreal or any other city. It's complete ignorance on his part. It makes him look bad, it makes his team look bad and it makes the league look bad.
With everything said about the Canucks in the media last season and no mention of Chicago's whining in round 1 last season, no comment on Carcillo's ignorant comments where he named his three most hated Canucks and named 2 guys who weren't even on the team anymore and now defending this. I can only shake my head I suppose.
The other side is I'm not a PROFESSIONAL. Judging by his actions, neither is Bolland.
But, like I said, it's fashionable to hate Vancouver, so I suppose I should expect people to defend ignorant, insulting comments about the team and city. I should have realized it would happen, and will continue to happen until another team becomes trendy to hate and everybody jumps on that "anti" bandwagon.

I'm not even going to waste my time anymore, it's obvious you're sure eeryones out to get Vancouver and there's no changing your mind.
Now, there's no reason to reply to this because I won't look in this thread again.
And to end on a happy note, Happy Holidays!

I just go by what I see and I'm honest about it.
If hockey fans generally hate the Canucks, that's fine. What really gets me is the Canucks were sooooo classless last spring, yet this is fine? Not hypocritical at all...

You have a serious persecution complex when it comes to the Canucks and the city of Vancouver.
In all honesty, I don't think anybody cares about the Canucks nearly as much as you seem to believe. Personally the only time I was critical of Vancouverites as a group had to do with the riots.

This is so incredibly true.
I never had a single solitary issue with the Canucks, the fans or the city of Vancouver, all of whom I respect and actually enjoy. Until now.
If he had spent a fraction of the time he spends whining in here on something productive, he probably could have built his own town, named it Wickabeeville, invited the small minority of Vancouver fans who actually beweeve nobody wikes them and take turns burning Dave Bolland Starting Lineup figures in effigy.
Bitter, bitter, bitter.

It probably comes from almost 30 years of listening to anti Canucks talk from all sides.
It probably comes from the fact (yes FACT) that when a Canuck opens his mouth it's scrutinized beyond belief but when something like this is said by a Blackhawk, it's defended.
Seriously, if Lapierre had said the exact same thing about Toews, the Hawks and the city of Chicago, there would be people in here screaming for his head.
Call it a complex if you want, I can live with that. In the end, you've pretty much proven me right, whether you think you did or not.
Oh and ed, the personal attacks are very appreciated. Keep them coming, maybe you'll actually come up with a clever one one day *rolleyes*
Anyway, I'm done with this. It's pretty obvious that it's okay to talk like Bolland did, but not to be offended by the idioc..er, "non vanilla" speech.Last edited by Wickabee; 12-15-2011 at 10:48 PM.

LOL "it's fashionable to hate Vancouver" what a joke. If anything, you're not helping the rest of the people on here have any reason to like Vancouver. If I were to ever dare say something that could be even slightly deemed negative, I'd have to hear about how much of a hypocrite I am, how the world hates Vancouver, etc.
If this gets you so frustrated, I can't imagine how you might ever deal with any sort of trash talk, be it from opposing fans, players, whatever. So fragile you just might break!

Yup, I'm broken, you hurt me so bad, etc, etc.
The point is Everything said by Vancouver has been scrutinized. Everything said about Vancouver has been passed over. Call me fragile, bitter or whatever name you like. I reffed minor hockey in high school, there's nothing you can call me I haven't been called before.
This went beyond trash talk to pure ignorance.
For all the talk about how classless Vancouver was last year, those same people can't seem to recognize it now. Maybe it's for the reasons I said, maybe it's for other reasons. The fact of the matter is it's there and it's real.
